The Ütia Bioch Refuge 2,079 m boasts a long tradition of Ladin hospitality since 1990. Founded as a small ski-restaurant at the top of the ‘Bioch’ chairlift, today it offers a modern experience combining tradition and sustainability. The gastronomic philosophy is based on fresh, local ingredients, emphasising products from the Ladin valleys, with a focus on South Tyrolean wines, thanks to which, in 2020, we were the first hut to be awarded the prized ‘South Tyrolean Wine Culture Award’. The strudels and polenta with venison from Senior Albina have become legendary in the Dolomites Passes. Anyone who has had the chance to taste them fondly remembers their flavor, texture, and aroma. The main feature of Monte Cherz is its tradition, evident in every detail, from the dining rooms to the bar. The restaurant offers classics of Ladin tradition, from the typical canederli with butter and smoked ricotta to the strudel with South Tyrolean apples, cinnamon, raisins, and pine nuts, all made according to traditional recipes. In our cozy farmhouse inn or on the sunny terrace, you can enjoy the finest dishes of Ladin and Tyrolean cuisine. The dishes we cook with great tradition are based on excellent products from our agriculture and the region: dumplings with goulash, creamy soup from the Rit meadows, and tagliatelle with ragout are some of our specialties. Of course, wines and beers from South Tyrol cannot be missing. However, our flagship are the meat dishes. Every day we offer dishes made from Angus beef from our herd, a very flavorful, tender, and rich in Omega-3 fatty acids meat.
