As part of the 34th Winefestival in Merano, the award ceremony for the wineries will take place on the evening of 7 November 2025. Oops – The Light and Music Show That Enchants When a little dreamer loses their balloon, a magical journey begins—through light, music, and boundless imagination. Oops is an immersive spectacle that transforms the façade of the Hofburg Brixen into a living canvas, brought to life by 10 powerful projectors. Accompanied by an original soundtrack from electronic music legend Giorgio Moroder, this visual journey invites audiences into fantastical worlds full of wonder and delight. A show that amazes all ages—and supports a good cause: for every ticket sold, a donation of €1 goes to UNICEF. Follow your balloon. And prepare to be enchanted.

Every Year, a Piece of the Past Hundreds stroll through the streets. Children stand at the fence, admiring sheep, goats, horses, donkeys, and chickens, their faces full of excitement. Men and women gather at stalls, sipping tea and mulled wine, enjoying hot chestnuts, roasted potatoes, and nuts. Traditional folk music completes the atmosphere. This is the scene at the „Kathreine Markt“ in Mühlen in Taufers, one of the oldest markets in the Pustertal Valley, dating back to the 17th century. Market Regulations from the 17th Century Every year near November 25th—St. Catherine’s Day or „Kothreine-Toug“—the Kathrein Market is held in Mühlen. In a regulation from 1678–1697, the Taufers dominion declared: „Let it be known that the dominion of Taufers, by its arch-princely privileges and freedoms, proclaims a princely, free annual market, today, the day before St. Catherine’s Day, and tomorrow on St. Catherine’s Day, lasting two days and two nights, to be held annually in Mühlen.“ The full regulation was read aloud at the market’s opening on the eve of St. Catherine’s Day and strictly enforced, especially regarding livestock trade. Eventually, the market ceased—until it was revived in 1998 by the „Kothreine-Morscht-Komitee“. The „Kothreine-Morscht-Komitee“ Forgotten for years, the market was revived in 1998 by three dedicated locals who formed the „Millina Kothreine-Morscht-Komitee“. Later, the „Kothreine-Verein“ was founded, now with many active members participating annually with their own stalls. Organizer Karl Weger still manages the event, ensuring smooth operations and an entertaining, authentic program. „We began with five stalls in 1998; now there are about 30, including local farmers and traders from the Tauferer and Ahrntal valleys offering homemade goods,“ he says. A core focus remains showcasing old crafts and traditional skills, making the market a lively social event once again. Maintaining its rustic, traditional, and social character is key for the organizers—and they succeed. The market stretches from the main street to the „Golla“ and „Larch“ inns. Festivities begin with a 9 a.m. Mass, followed by the traditional reading of the old market rules in Benjamin Square and the official opening of the „Kothreine Moscht“. Visitors can taste, haggle, and buy local specialties: cheese, honey, sausage, homemade bacon, „Melchamuis“ (milk porridge), „Böxhörnkneidl“ (buckwheat dumplings), and „Schöttina Kropfn“ (ricotta fritters). There’s much to see at the small-animal, flea, and swap markets, with „Tatlkroma“ (haberdashers), Schuhplattler dancers, and Ziechaspieler (accordion players). Kathrein Ends the Dancing The old saying still applies: „Kathrein stellt den Tanz ein“ (“Kathrein puts an end to the dancing”). On November 25, St. Catherine’s Day marks the beginning of Advent—the Christian penitential season before Christmas. Even the Luttach folk dance group only puts away their dancing shoes after the Kathrein evening. At the market, they still host a children’s dance and the traditional „Kothreinetonz“. Thus, every year, people end an exciting day full of nostalgia with a glass of mulled wine or tea, reviving the spirit of long-forgotten rural celebrations and keeping them alive for the local community.

GLORENZA ADVENT MARKET Under the motto "Lights-Smells-Sounds" the Advent market will finally take place again in Glurns. Time for contemplation and culinary highlights. With the medieval backdrop and the romantic alleys of the town, this Advent market is unique. It is characterized by contemplative and musical moments with brass groups and choirs. More than 45 merchants offer their self-produced and handcrafted goods. There will alsobe pre-Christmas crafts, fairy tales and Punch and Judy shows for children. The gastronomic stalls spoil the visitors with culinary delights and warm drinks.

An event that opens the culinary winter season in Alta Badia: an itinerant journey on skis from hut to hut, where guests can savor the exclusive creations of five Michelin-starred chefs. And you, as our guests, will have the opportunity of following the skiing stars live from the edge of the slopes as they battle for a place on the podium of the FIS World Cup. The history of the World Cup in Dolomites Val Gardena goes back to the 1970s. The Saslong slope is one of the most beautiful and well-known stages of the world cup, what with its famous and feared ‘camel hump’ and speeds of up to 100 km an hour. The Ski World Cup took place in 1970 in Dolomites Val Gardena, among other places; on that occasion the whole skiing world set its eyes on the Saslong slope. Women and men took part in dozens and dozens of races on the slope as well as on the region’s other famous slopes: Ronc, Ciampinoi and Cir. Today, a super-G and a men’s downhill race take place in Dolomites Val Gardena once a year. Local celebrities and international legends fulfilled their dream of one day being the winner of the FIS ski World Cup in Dolomites Val Gardena. Pre-Christmas time is San Candido time: from 20th to 22nd December, the FIS Ski Cross World Cup will take place in the holiday region 3 Zinnen Dolomites for the 15th time. Fans of the "Formula 1 of skiing" can once again look forward to a total of four spectacular races at the Monte Baranci.

And you will get to live and breathe every moment. Share the excitement with other enthusiasts as the competitors cross the finish line, where every last curve is the ultimate test of nerve. Once more, in this 40th edition, the world's best ski racers will battle on one of the most difficult tracks in the white circus. The unmissable spectacle of the men’s giant slalom taking place on the Gran Risa, in the heart of the spectacular Dolomite mountains. From Alberto Tomba to Bode Miller and Marcel Hirscher, there are many champions who have triumphed on this track, which is one of the hardest slopes in the world.
