The Seurasas hut is located in the heart of Val Gardena at an altitude of 2.020 meters. It disposes of a wonderful sun deck with a breathtaking view of the "Saslong" and "Sella" mountain chain. The name Mauriz was already mentioned in 1752 in a sales agreement. At that time, the Mauriz was used as a stable of the inn Morizen “Mauriz”, which belonged to the Sanoner family. Josef Anton Sanoner emigrated to France and came back only at the beginning of 1810. He bought the whole estate and called the inn “Adler”. In 1903 Johann Babtist Sanoner enlarged the inn and added walls to the wooden building. In the stable, which had beautiful cross vaults, there were many horses, which were used by the guests for riding tours and for coach tours. In 1985 a part of the wooden scaffolding of the interior construction and the old cross vaults, under which you are sitting now, were saved from demolition. The old wood was used for the interior decoration of the disco “Mauriz”. We have rented the building in 2003 and, with a lot of effort and particular attention to detail, have turned it into the restaurant and pizzeria Maurizkeller. Our mountain hut is located at 1905 m at the Juac alp, above Selva in Val Gardena. Embedded in fresh meadows, our hut is the ideal place to relax and to escape the stress. Just lay back, enjoy the fresh air, our traditional dishes and the amazing view of the sourrounding mountains of Val Gardena. Ambiente The hut is pretty easy to reach by foot and by bike. For passionate hikers, mountain bikers or climbers the hut, for ist ideal location close by the Puez-Odle Natural Park, can be used as a perfekt starting point for walks and excursions. An experienced, local mountain guide can give you some advices or take you on an unforgettable tour to one of the surrounding peaks. Our hut is situated on the Sella Pass in the middle of the breathtaking Dolomites scenery. Thanks to its position between Val Gardena and Val di Fassa, you can enjoy a fantastic 360° view. In winter you can reach us directly via the Sellaronda. In summer, however, you can reach us either from the Sella Pass after a comfortable 25-minute walk or from Campitello di Fassa with the Col Rodella cable car and after a 20-minute walk downhill towards the Sella Pass. Another option to reach us is by bike in 10 minutes from the Sella Pass or downhill from the Col Rodella cable car towards the Sella Pass in only 5 minutes. A large selection of creative culinary dishes from South Tyrolean and Italian cuisine awaits you here. Also pizza lovers will not miss out(only winter). Our cottage is located at the Sella Pass in the heart of the Dolomites mountains with a wonderful panoramic view of the Marmolada glaciar, the Sella massiv and the Sassolungo group. The Sella Pass forms together with the Pordoi Pass, the Gardena Pass and the Campolongo Pass the four-pass-trip, known from the skiers and the treckers as the "Sellaronda".

The RIFUGIO TONI DEMETZ is located in the heart of the Dolomites, majestically embedded between the peaks of the SASSOLUNGO and the CINQUE DITA (5 Fingers) on the high rocky pass of the FORCELLA DEL SASSOLUNGO. We are here in midst of an ancient coral reef where more than 220 million years ago flowed the Tethys Sea. The RIFUGIO TONI DEMETZ is the ideal starting point for many trekking, hiking and rock climbing routes. Also a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature and the breathtaking and charming scenery of the Dolomites declared as a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site in 2009. In 1954, the mountain guide Giovanni Demetz wanted to build here a refuge, a shelter from wind, rain and snow, a restoring place where you can admire the surrounding landscape from. With great passion and dedication, Enrico Demetz, Giovanni's youngest son, still runs the refuge together with his wife and daughters.
