Healthy cuisine – healthy body – healthy spirit Restaurant Schwarzer Adler – the first guesthouse in Villabassa Schwarzer Adler was the first guesthouse in Villabassa. Opened in the 15th century, philosophers, scientists and other academics and summer guests from the hogher echelons of Austro-Hungarian nobility visited the guesthouse. Under the management of the renowned tourism expert Emma Hellenstainer, the guesthouse became popular for its exquisite cuisine. Guests were spoiled with healthy food already back in Miss Emma's day! This tradition has been preserved up to date. Whenever possible we use home-grown products or products from organic farmers from the surroundings, who we know in person.

Bad Egart has been a restaurant since 1430 and is the oldest healing bath in Tyrol. The Platino family has transformed the restaurant into a treasure trove and museum over the years. Travel back in time at Restaurant Onkel Taa and in the Bad Egart Imperial and Royal Museum (dedicated to the Austro-Hungarian era). We are dedicated to preserving the tradition of Austro-Hungarian cuisine, but also incorporate fresh, new culinary ideas into our dishes... Every day, we are intent on offering discerning guests a creative menu of the highest quality. Whether for our exclusive dinners or a small delicacy as a snack, the ingredients for our dishes come from the region and from our own organic vegetable and herb garden. Our house specialty is escargot, which we serve seasonally and in constantly new and different ways. Janett Platino runs the kitchen, and likes to make people curious.

Renovated again a few years ago with a fresh but genuinely traditional style, it is the first room in the historic centre where, sitting at tables in the garden, you are kissed by the sun.

Sigmund is one the most tradition-steeped restaurants in Meran’s Old Town. Located near the pedestrian area, at the Bozner Gate, it offers excellent South Tyrolean home-style cooking with some culinary forays into Italy. Special emphasis is placed on a wonderful preparation of local products. The menu changes regularly, ensuring that guests are always treated to new creations. Sigmund’s guest rooms were custom-built using various types of natural wood, and offer lovely views of Meran’s Old Town. A central location makes Sigmund an ideal starting point for walks and excursions.

In Obermais, about 3 km away from the centre of Meran, the Prinz Rudolf hotel, as well as being a new location placed outside of the usual standards, recommends two culinary offers which complement and complete one another. In the terraced rooms with their view over the city you may chose between the lively and youthful "Restaurant & Pizzeria" and the exclusive "Prinz 1871", the first specialised in the new interpretation of South Tyrolean courses along with pizzas made with excellent ingredients, the latter imagined to satisfy the most demanding palates with seasonal tasting menus, à la carte courses and refined wines.

Our child-friendly restaurant with our own child room offers place for 210 guests (restaurant 80 people – „Mohren“-room 130 people) and our garden terrace offers additional 120 places. In our „Mohren“-room you can celebrate birthday-parties and other occasions or have business dinners on request.

Vinumgarten - the name of the restaurant provides not just a cozy place in our garden, but also the special connection from good food and excellent wine. It awaits an authentic Alpine-Mediterranean cuisine, combined with fine wines of small local wineries in the unique setting of two wooden wine barrels. The cuisine of the owner and chef Klaus Pircher reflects the classic and modern South Tyrol. Selected seasonal products from producers in the area can be found in the kitchen. For aperitif Aperol from Marling of the private distillery Unterthurner, followed by fresh mountain butter from Unterschweighof from the Ulten Valley combined with homemade bread and fresh vegetables from South Tyrol, this are just a few examples.

The starting idea of La Smorfia, a project launched back in 2014, was to take a good pizza to Merano. Our mission is to use one of the most popular courses of Italian tradition to spread products, flavours and recepies through iconic Mediterraneancuisine plates. We have been so successful in doing this that the project evolved in 2021 into "The South in Tyrol", an improvement of our offer which enabled us to pair our food choice with the national enological richness. Throughout this constant growing process we got to La Smorfia Experience, a room dedicated to a more rational culinary approach, a whole access to food and wines from our cellar. The renowned international guide Falstaff awarded us in 2022 as the best pizzeria in South Tyrol.

Located in Corso Libertà right in front of the main entrance of the Kurhaus, the restaurant ale-house Forsterbräu is a recognised landmark both for residents and tourists, thanks to its traditional cuisine, which can be enjoyed from lunchtime until late in the evening and above all for its eight different sorts of draught beer. There is one main dining room, several charming typical Stube and - during the warm season - the refreshing indoor garden with its chestnut trees. Up to 500 people can eat and drink at the same time and during the month of December you may taste the special Christmas beer. The unmissable Beer Feast has become a tradition and takes place every year during the third weekend of September, with good live music, outstanding meals and pints and pints of fresh Forst beer!

We are in a sunny, peaceful location bursting with nature at 1,420m in the hills situated above Welsberg/Monguelfo. It is not only a restaurant to visit for a meal but also a lovely place to spend a few hours– whether as a couple or a family. You can reach the restaurant comfortably by car from the centre of Monguelfo in just 10 minutes, or if you are the outdoors type there are many walking trails that pass our door. Our chef creates traditional home-made Tyrolian specialities as well as international favourites. We spend our time searching for the highest quality local ingredients. We use fresh herbs and home-grown produce from our vegetable garden when the seasons allow. Enjoy the family atmosphere in our homely ’Stube’ which makes for a memorable experience. Right in the centre of the village, immersed in nature Eppanerhof. The name lives up to its promise. This historic building with its shady terrace, garden and large car park may be found right in the centre of Eppan-Appiano, making it the idea base for walks and cycling tours in the Überetsch valley area. The popular bathing lakes of southern South Tyrol are close by, too. This is the perfect accommodation for explorers, bon vivants and all those who appreciate genuine, warm hospitality. Our rooms afford generous views across the sea of vineyards that make up the Überetsch valley and as stretch far as the provincial capital of Bozen-Bolzano. To the west the Mendel-Mendola mountain, with its densely forested ridge, may be seen rising up, inviting hikers to scale the heights and enjoy the views for miles around. Eppan-Appiano is a lively village on the South Tyrol Wine Road, where posh boutiques may be found alongside corner shops, elegant vinotheques next to the village cafè, and prestigious restaurants beside traditional pizzerias. Eppanerhof is a combination of the latter: the good reputation of the pizzas served in its restaurant extends beyond the local surrounding Überetsch area. Traditional food is served in the open air beneath knobbly chestnut trees.
