Visit one of the oldest preserved churches in Europe.
The small church of St Benedict from the 8th century AD has Carolingian wall paintings inside, which are among the oldest frescoes in Western Europe.
A building from the 8th century. The Romanesque tower dates from the 12th century. The paintings and Carolingian frescoes inside are among the oldest in the entire German-speaking world. The church harbours the world's only portrait of a Frankish landlord.

‘+/- Folk’ is the theme of the exhibition trilogy, which combines the three exhibition venues St. Veit Church, Bunker23 and Bunker5 into a unique cultural journey. Art, design, architecture and film come together and open the view far beyond the boundaries of folkloristic nostalgia.

Guided tour of the Fürstenburg Castle in Burgeis
Discover the medieval complex of the Fürstenburg in Burgeis. It was built by Bishop Konrad of Chur in the 13th century. Particularly worth seeing is the massive keep with walls three metres thick, which, together with the surrounding fortifications and stronghold, forms the oldest part of the building.
Today, the Fürstenburg houses a technical college for agriculture and forestry.

Would you like to be there and watch Friedrich Steiner produce the Steiner organic quality liqueur? The content ranges from the description of the fruit from their own organic farm to the preparation of the mash, the fermentation process and the distillation, maturation and storage of the spirit. This is followed by the cosy part.

St Nicholas' Church was consecrated in 1199. The little church is famous for its coffered ceiling from the 16th century, which depicts a jester in a washtub. The nave has a flat roof and slit windows. The semi-circular vaulted apse contains frescoes from the 13th century, including a well-preserved fresco of Christ in the mandorla.

Taufers im Münstertal/Tubre, Vinschgau/Val Venosta
The Church of St Johann in Taufers was built around 1220. The Romanesque church building has the shape of a Greek cross. The fully painted groined vault shows Byzantine influences, and the frescoes from the late Romanesque period are also worth seeing.

You’ll learn all about the valley and its inhabitants and gain an overview prehistoric and early history of the Venosta Valley, the immaterial cultural heritage of the irrigation channels, and the story of the Swabian Children and poverty in the valley.

You’ll learn all about the valley and its inhabitants and gain an overview prehistoric and early history of the Venosta Valley, the immaterial cultural heritage of the irrigation channels, and the story of the Swabian Children and poverty in the valley.
The church of St Veit stands on the Tartscher Bühel hill. The Romanesque church from the 11th century houses frescoes inside, some of which are badly damaged. The entire west wall is filled with a cycle of paintings (fragments) dating from the 16th century.

Visit the mysterious bunkers of the Upper Venosta Valley with our experienced guides, architectural relics from the interwar period, monumental defences and last places of refuge. Embedded in the patchwork of the Upper Venosta Valley cultural landscape and well camouflaged by meadows and trees, these fortifications are barely recognisable as part of the Alpine wall.

Lechtl – A Mountain Farm Steeped in History on the Sonnenberg in the Venosta Valley
Mountain farms through the ages and the great events of world history. The Theiner family from Lechtlhof farm talks about today’s challenges and embarks on a journey into the past. Includes a tour of the farm through the rustic parlour, the centuries-old cellar with a museum, and the farm chapel with a blacksmith’s workshop.
