In case of rain, the event will be held on 17 August. Exactly year in, year out, on 15 August, 'Ferragosto Day', there is a huge fun day in Niederdorf. Fun for young and old in the middle of summer is the confetti battle at the music pavilion. This event was first mentioned in the chapel's chronicle in 1924. A lantern procession for children, accompanied by the Niederdorf music band, opens the event at 8.30 pm. Of course, there will be a concert by the band at the pavilion afterwards. You simply have to be there - otherwise you've really missed out on something great.

On 15th of August, the village square in Laion transforms into a place full of flavors, music, and warm atmosphere. Starting at 10:00 AM, the music band of Laion invites you to the beloved Polenta Festival. Enjoy freshly prepared polenta, accompanied by the lively sounds of the music band "Loidner Böhmischen" and experience genuine South Tyrolean hospitality under the open sky.

When the Steinegg "Schützen" Company hosts its summer festival, expect a cheerful gathering full of tradition and good vibes. Also this year, the traditional blessing of herbs will take place on the Feast of the Assumption of Mary. At the end of the Holy Mass, the herbal bouquets will be blessed. This ancient tradition reminds us of the special significance of Mary as the “flower of the fields” and brings God’s blessing into our homes and families.

At the climax of the shooting star fall of the Perseids, the amateur astronomers "Max Valier" organise an open night at the "Max Valier" observatory. With your own blanket on the fields around the observatory, it is wonderful to sink into the night sky and count shooting stars. Visitors also have the opportunity to look through the observatory's telescopes and get a close-up view of exciting objects in the night sky.
