The Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park also has a heart, and that is called Braies Lake. The Braies Lake is located in an untouched rock basin and is overlooked by the majestic Seekofel, it is also considered the most beautiful lake in the Dolomites. To see it all, a walk of one and a half hours on the easy circular path is enough. For our spring special and autumn special, we offer you the opportunity to book a seat on the bus that will take you directly to Braies Lake. Here you will have the opportunity to hike and stroll on your own for a few hours before returning to San Vigilio.

On the tracks of the biathlon elite: Come and experience the excitement of this large sports venue that has already hosted numerous international competitions. Take a closer look at the technical and functional rooms, the entire administration building and the spectator stands in more detail. We tell you exciting stories and give you interesting facts about the Südtirol Arena and not to be missed: we will also take a look at Antholz 2026. A film about biathlon rounds off your knowledge of the sport. Finally you can feel like an elite Biathlete and try out biathlon shooting: put your marksmanship to the test with five shots. Guided tours of the biathlon stadium including biathlon shooting at realistic small-bore conditions are scheduled twice a week from June to October in German language. In the second half of the 19th century, running a business, practicing a skilled trade, or, least of all, being an alpinist was far from easy if you were a woman. The period between 1865 and 1914 saw numerous wives of photographers active in mountaineering and mountain photography, and it would not be possible to include them all in this exhibition. Instead, four women photographers were selected to represent the group in this exhibition. Among them, Elizabeth Whitshed Main takes a special place as an outstanding photographer, alpinist, and the founder of winter alpinism in general and winter tourism in the region of Engadin, Switzerland, in particular. The exhibition also features works by Gertrude Bell, Eleonore Noll-Hasenclever, and Una Cameron, three distinguished alpinists, travel journalists, and women’s rights activists. This leisurely hike follows the old paths of merchants, smugglers and soldiers and offers exciting insights into the region's past. An ideal adventure for the whole family to experience the captivating history of the valley.

From growing fodder to rearing calves, to livestock farming with dairy products and processing them into tasty yogurt, butter and cheese. Even the energy is generated directly on the farm. Visitors can take a tour of the new barn and the new cheese dairy to learn about and follow the process from milk to cheese. Under expert guidance, they have the opportunity to make their own soft cheese with various spices to suit their individual taste and take it home with them. Accompanied by the instructors of the Bike School, enter the heart of the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and be enraptured by the spectacle offered by the forests and mountains of the Dolomites. But it‘s not only your eyes that will be satisfied: you are in a true MTB paradise and can fully enjoy yourself in a rollercoaster of breathtaking ascents and descents. Please note: the route has a minimum altitude difference of 1000 m. To enjoy the experience at its best, and to make it accessible to everyone, we ask you to use an electric bike. Bike and helmet are not included.

From the Ladin Museum we set off together to discover SMACH Val dl'Ert (Art Valley), an open-air sculpture park which in 2023 has one of the special mentions in the National Landscape Award sponsored by the Italian Ministry of Culture. Along the path you will see more than 25 works of art set in an alpine forest, among the fir trees and pastures of a stretch of unspoilt nature. This is a permanent exhibition of sculptures acquired as a result of the SMACH art competition, the Dolomites Biennale. After the guided tour in the Val dl’Ert you can independently visit the Ladin Museum where you can immerse yourself in the history, culture and traditions of the Ladin people. DAKSY'S NATURE WORKSHOP for children from 6 to 12 years This summer, the Visito Center of Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park is once again organizing programmes for children every Friday afternoon to deepen their knowledge of plants, animals and geology, ... - each week the focus is on a new topic that we will explore together.

The Town Hall Square of Bruneck will be transformed into a vibrant bike centre. From special practice courses for children to riding technique training and short tours, there will be something for everyone. Highlight: SICK! Bike Show at 11.00 am., 1.00 pm. and 3.00 pm. on Town Hall Square.

The historical escape routes of Michael Gaismair and his army in 1525/26 as well as more recent escape routes from the 20th/21st century, which are shown in the exhibition in the form of pictures and photographs, are geographically divided into two presentation locations to the west and east of Bruneck: at LUMEN. Museum of Mountain Photography at Kronplatz focuses on Graubünden/Gadertal/Padua and Karwendel/Pyrenees/Western Alps, while at Museum Burg Heinfels the focus is on Zillertal/Salzburg/East Tyrol and Krimmler Tauern/Strandzha Mountains/Kurdistan. An exciting, informative and entertaining circular hike in a culturally rich settlement area rich with a visit to the rustic farm Ausluger (12th century) and its charming farm shop where you can buy the farm's own products which are produced under the seal of quality "Roter Hahn" from 100% regional production. In a short bus ride we sustainably reach the beautiful market town of St. Lorenzen/San Lorenzo (810m/starting point). On partly unmarked unknown paths, walking through meadows and forests, accompanied by beautiful views of Brunneck/Brunico and the Rieserferner group, we cross the Onsberg (939m) and reach the farm "Ausluger", including a visit to the rustic farm, located in the idyllic village of St. Martin/San Martino. After our stay we pass the village characterized by the striking Michelsburg and farms and reach the western end of St. Lorenzen/San Lorenzo. In the face of the imposing Sonnenburg/Castelbadia we hike to the beautiful village of the same name (830 m). An exciting traverse under the Sonnenburger Kopf (937) through the "Hazelnut Tunnel" awaits us. With a magnificent view over the valley widening of St. Lorenzen/San Lorenzo we reach the last section of the hike. This leads us along the rushing Rienz back to the starting point. Interested in visiting one of our characteristic farmsteads? The Moarhof farm in the hamlet of Obergoste invites you to take a tour of its barn, stables, petting zoo and dairy farm. Following the tour, you can savour some farm products such as milk, butter, yoghurt, cheese, smoked sausages called „Kaminwurzen“ and bacon.

Are you looking for a real adventure? Then we have just the thing for you here. First you climb up over rocky terrain with our mountain guide Manuel and then dash down with the zipline in no time at all. There is also a slackline where you can prove your balance. Your parents can either accompany you or relax in the nearby fishing pond and enjoy the quiet atmosphere with a drink. A spectacular adventure for the whole family! How is a bee colony organised? How is honey made? Why are these industrious, seemingly never-tiring insects so important to us? Our beekeeper will accompany you to the apiary (20-minute walk). Equipped with protective beekeeping clothing, you will have the opportunity to observe a bee colony and learn more about the creation and production of honey. An exciting insight for young and old!
