Our history 

Shoe shop ‚Pitscheider‘ and their cobbler‘s workshop have been in family for 3 generations.

In 1953 the local clobbler Franz Pitscheider & his wife Johanna, opened their little shop and shoe repair workshop in Via Meisules.

Some years later, their oldest son Peppi followed his father into the business. With dedication and hard work, and the help of his wife Laura, the shoe shop became a great success.

Around ten years ago, Franz‘s grandson Klaus took over the reins of managing the shop. Like his grandfather, he also trained to become a Master Cobbler.

Today, Klaus and his wife Emma, bring new energy and enthusiasm to the business, offering an excellent personalised service to their customers.

Here at Calzature Pitscheider we like to get to know our customers in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, with a cheerful „welcome to our place“!

Our experienced ski instructors in the Saslong-Ortisei ski school’s ski hire shop will be pleased to advise you about all the skiing equipment you might need. Alpine skis, ski boots and poles in all price categories up to the very highest quality can be obtained daily from 8 am to 7 pm. Easy Fun and Race Carving, Snowboard Soft, Snow Blade and much more are all available in the ski hire shop at special rates.

From beginner to expert, we have the perfect gear to elevate your mountain experience. Rent with confidence and conquer the slopes in style. We also rent bobs.

Sonia Demetz lends to this story with her personal touch; as she draws the figures, and as a final touch, she then hand color-paints each one of them. Sonia’s remarkable skill of wood painting was learned from her mother, in turn, passed down from generations. Today, Sonia continues this artisan tradition with a never-ending commitment and deep passion to make each of her carvings one of a kind.
