The romanesque church St.Jakob on the Langfenn is positioned on the most visible and on the highest point of the Salto (1525m). The church stands on prehistoric ground and could tell us probabely many interesting and exciting historical things. On the altar we can see Saint Jakob, the protector of all hikers, and on his side the two Patrons of the pest, Rochus and Sebastian..
The hiking trail to the Malga Vitelli/Kälberalm is a beautiful hiking trail of about 6.3 km length. The path runs evenly, with almost no difference in altitude and has a breathtaking panorama. The Malga Vitelli is also the starting point for the hikes to the Dossobello di Dietro and the Rifugio Serristori.
The Malga Lingeralm is located above the village Meltina in the middst of the sunny high plateau Tschögglberg. From here you have an excellent panoramic-view. For small and large is provided with a sun terrace and a small children's playground with swing. Typical South Tyrolean dishes and cakes are offered.

Beautiful hiking trail from the idyllic mountain village of Mölten/Meltina to the neighbouring Vöran. The trail is surrounded by beautiful woods and green meadows, from here you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of the surrounding mountains.
The circular trail is an experience for the whole family through forests and meadows. There is also a small playground and a small water wheel, which especially invites children to stay.
The „Badl im Mühlbacher Talele“ is the highest spa in the Puster valley. It is situated in the beautiful national park Rieserferner, about 1700 m above sea level.
The 9 km Montani-Tour is accessible all year round and because of its low levels of altitude, it can be recommended even for inexperienced hikers.
As of the Hotel Latscherhof, follow about 20 meters the street high up to the asphalt way which branches off on the right and runs through the fruit plants. At the end of the way go to the opposite forest motor road and through the big iron gate. Duch leads a light woods area and the forest motor road after some hairpin bends where the way back starts rising moderately-one reaches the junction-to Morter. One leaves the forest road for short time and chooses a narrow woods path which in turn leads to the forest road and leads to the Castle Obermontani. On a narrow path to the Ruin Untermontani get off and for the wood bridge over, on the right branch off and go on in the direction of the Bierkeller. More briefly, the fruit plant crosses increase after to the Mareinwaal. From there go the asphalt way through fruit plants back to the start point.
The malga Sattlerhütte is a very beautifully situated, rustic pasture below the Möltner Kaser. The hike can be done at any time of the year: in winter as a snowshoe tour, in autumn - when the larches turn yellow-gold, in the summer because of the lush green meadow and especially in spring, when the alpine meadows turn into a flowering sea of crocuses and other spring flowers.
10.5 km long, comfortable walk at 450 m altitude, above the villages of Lana, Tscherms and Marling.
Those who are not yet tired of the hike can take the Algunder Waalweg (end Marlinger Waalweg, across the road, cross the small bridge in the direction of Lagundo) and then the Tappeinerweg (to Merano center) in the hike.
The three Holy Fountains in Trafoi are situated in a small chapel, which has been a place of pilgrimage for the Virgin Mary since the 15th century. The way to the place of pilgrimage is about 2.5 km long and always runs evenly, so it's suitable for baby strollers. In addition, the beautiful path to the Holy three Wells is accessible all year round.
There is a table tennis, a football place, a little wood (for little pirates and bandits) and particularly peace and silence.
Twelve kilometers long, the Marlinger Waalweg trail is a popular hiking trail which runs along the former irrigation channels, the longest of its kind in South Tyrol. Starting at the Töllbrücke bridge, the 250 year-old path gently ascends through apple orchards and woods to firmer and more level ground. After pausing to admire the medieval Lebenberg Castle, hikers continue slightly downhill along the slope of Marling mountain to the village of Lana.
A pleasant meadow hike on the mountains of Laion, with beatiful views. Especially recommended in spring or autumn. The Poststeig trail on the return route is a historical connecting path, its origins go back hundreds of years.

The Speikboden is more than just a favorite ski area. It is also an ideal hiking area. The mountain got its name from a little flower that grows in the high mountains – Alpine valerian, or “Speik” in German – and that is in fact because this lovely flower is often found in the hiking area.
With the cable cars you can reach the "Speikboden Alm" at 2000 metres of altitude or the Sonnklar mountain at 2400 metres above sea level. Both are starting points for fantastic walks and hikes along well maintained trails. Particularly popular are the sunrise walks - to spot the first sunrays while the valley still lies in darkness is a memorable experience.
The so called Knottnkino on the rock Rotsteinkogel is a special view point. Enjoy a wonderful panorama on the Rotsteinkogel. From here you have a view on the mountains Texel, Penegal and you can see even the Weißhorn. The Etsch-Valley spreads under the rock. There are 30 armchairs made of steel and chestnut wood. If you sit down, you can enjoy nature as a whole, as you where sitting in a cinema.

Surrounded by larch forests and alpine meadows, the alpine restaurant Lanzenschuster is located on the northern part of the plateau Salten, above Flaas. The restaurant Lanzenschuster serves hearty home-made South Tyrolean specialities with regional products and home made products, like strudel with apple or cheese. During the summer often barbeques and live music are waiting for you, and for children a playground and a petting zoo are offered.
The Mühlwaal along the Wasserfallweg and the Pröfingweg was renovated by the canal guards in 2011. It draws its water from the Zielbach stream, coming from the well-known Zieltal valley, and is used to irrigate the Rabland/Rablà orchards that spread along the east and south sides of the village. In winter, the historic Waal is used for fire fighting by the volunteer fire brigades.

This trail runs smoothly on a forest road through forests and meadows. At Frassineto you have the possibility to have a rest, to stop at one of the restaurants and to return then to Meltina by public transport (bus no. 204).
Follow the Plosestraße road to the Finktal Valley, then turn right uphill along trail no. 7), This leads partly over the Kreuztal meadows (used as ski slopes in winter). Continue to the east via trail no. 17, known as the "Woody Walk", then to the right descending to the Skihütte mountain restaurant. Return briefly to the paved street, then turn to the left (trail no. 8) on to the forest trail before a last brief stretch on the paved road leading down to the mountain village of Plancios/Palmschoss.
This path between the water irrigation channels, so called Waalwege, embraces the valley basin of Merano and allows hikers to experience the area on a 80 km walking path.
The road joins eleven separate paths allowing the discovery of huts along the channels and even castles, churches and natural wonders. The path between the Merano channels isn't at high altitude, but cut into the valley between 400 and 900 meters in height.
Hikers can walk the entire trail in eight stages over one week, or alternatively experience one leg as a day tour. The path between the Merano irrigation channels supplements the beloved Merano High Mountain Trail.
"The channels" are artificially created canals for irrigation originating from the thirteenth century. A narrow bridge was built to maintain and care for each channel. In the past, the farmers dedided to build the channels using rudimentary tools to regulate the distribution of water, a very clever idea. Today, the paths along these water irrigation channels have become popular hiking trails and walks, suitable at any time of the year.
The journey is the destination for children. From strolls through a strech of apple blossoms in Bolzano/Bozen, Meran/Merano and Brixen/Bressanne surroundings to an unforgettable overnight stay at a mountain refuge in the Dolomites region like in Kronplatz : the many destinations and tours in South Tyrol will delight adults and children alike.
