Hotel description
The well-equipped one-room apartment on the 1st floor offers everything you need for a fine holiday in the beautiful Vinschgau Valley: a well-equipped kitchen-living room, a beautiful bathroom in natural stone with washer-dryer, a double bed and a single bed. Public, free parking spaces are located directly in front of the house. The apartment is close to the centre of Mals. A grocery store and a baker are within 5 minutes walking distance. Directly opposite the apartment is the pre-Romanesque St. Benedict's Church with its Carolingian frescos. You can reach the centre of Mals in 5 minutes on foot. The train station of Mals can be reached in 10 minutes, the bus stop in 1 minute. Mals is a very good starting point to discover the landscape, culture and mountain world of the border triangle, Italy (Vinschgau), Switzerland and Austria. The public transport network is very well developed. Mals has a train station, from where there are bus connections to Switzerland to Austria and to the small villages of the upper Vinschgau Valley.

About the region

The sunniest valley in the Alps as well as the highest mountain in South Tyrol, ‘King’ Ortler, are but a stone’s throw away in Vinschgau, the westernmost part of South Tyrol. Character and creativity in this border region are expressed by the unique products and rich cultural and artistic treasures to be discovered against the backdrop of contrasting and dramatic landscapes.

The waters of the Reschensee lake guard the secrets of a famous sunken church. A view out across the lake towards its lonely church tower, surrounded by snowkiters or sailboats, exemplifies the blending of culture and possibilities for activity on holidays in Vinschgau. Discover for yourself the varied landscapes bathed in light as well as the creativity and peculiarity of the people of Vinschgau during a ride on the Vinschgau Train. View numerous castles and forts in the wide and sun-spoiled valley, dubbed the patchwork quilt of South Tyrol. As you travel further along, the Ortler peak appears larger than life. Hop out and enjoy the bounty that surrounds you, from Vinschgau apricots to specialties like Paarl bread. Stroll along the Waalwege paths or bike to Glorenza/Glurns, the smallest city in Italy, where you can head back in time to the middle ages.
