The brand-new "SONNEN" 10-seat cable car will launch in December 2023 at Klausberg in the Skiworld Ahrntal. It replaces the old 3-seat "Sonnen" ski lift and offers a modern and comfortable ride for 10 people per cabin to over 2,100 m in just 6:12 minutes.
After comprehensive planning, the project started in November 2022. The new lift is a tried-and-tested model from Doppelmayr, chosen for its performance and safety. With a capacity of 2400 people per hour and a focus on child safety, the lift offers an impressive upgrade.
The work is primarily carried out by local companies to ensure short production and delivery routes and to support the local economy. The project will be completed in the fall of 2023 and the first rides will start in December 2023.
Along with the lift upgrade, existing slopes are made wider and safer to enhance the skiing experience. Therefore, "SONNEN" offers a complete upgrade, both in terms of the lift system and the slopes.

The 8-seater gondola lift connects the town of Corvara, in winter as well as in summer, with the homonymous hill above the town.
It was 1938 when a carriage for skiers was built in Corvara towards Col Alto, a sledge lift. The sledge lift was replaced in 1946 by a chair lift. It was the first chairlift in Italy. Improvements and renovations have been made several times over the years. Most recently, the chairlift was replaced by the current 8-seater gondola lift.
From the valley station of the gondola lift, hiking trails and MTB trails connect with the Piz La Ila - Piz Sorega - Pralongiá plateau. At the mountain station of the gondola lift, there is also an e-mtb sharing point in which you can rent an electric mountain bike which can be delivered to one of the other participating rental points.
In winter, the sunny and perfectly prepared Col Alto slopes connect Corvara to the Alta Badia ski area. On one of the slopes that descends from the Col Alto, cameras have been installed on the slopes. They will record your descent upon request. The video can then be downloaded.
