A walk for nature lovers
The theme path that runs from Natz to Raas and back to the starting point provides insight into the natural beauty of the area. On various information boards along the way, you will learn things to know about the apple cultivation in Natz and the apple-producing region of South Tyrol.
From the Huber Kreuz we take the forest road to the direction of "Pian" and follow the trail 3B and 3A to the "Unterhornhaus" and "Felturnerhütte". The trail n° 19 goes around the "Schwarzseespitze".
We start in Saubach/S. Ingenuino and hike on the trail nr. 28 on the "Saubacher Koflweg". Then we go right to the way nr. 3 and arrive the "Katzenleiter" and "Kasserol". On the mark nr. 3 we come back to the village Barbian and from there we retun to Saubach/S. Ingenuino.
From Barbian/Barbiano we go to Saubach/St. Ingenuino. At the Saubacherhof you can make a break and eat and drink something. We go to the Pennhof and there begins an old trail that follows us to Kollmann/Colma (way nr. 8). On the return we take the trail nr. 5 until "Heilig Kreuz". there we cross the street and on the trail nr. 5 we arrive Barbian/Barbiano.
The hiking tour on the Alps of Barbian starts at the Huber Kreuz (1621 m). From here we go to „Merlboden“ on trail nr 4. Then it continues to go round the Oberes Horn to the Unteres Horn (2044 m). There is a stop off. After the refreshment begins the descent. It goes down to „Pennleger“ (1847 m) and on trail nr 3B to the Huber Kreuz.

This winter hike takes you from Vals to the picturesque Fane Alm, one of South Tyrol's most beautiful alpine meadows. With its rustic log cabins and the Chapel of Mary, Fane Alm offers a unique atmosphere. The trail begins in Vals and leads you past the Kurzkofelhütte, through the idyllic winter landscape. Step by step, the charming alpine village of Fane Alm comes into view.
The Alm is situated in a sunny, sheltered mountain hollow and provides a cozy spot to rest at its welcoming hut. Please check the opening hours of the Zingerlehütte in advance to best plan your visit.
Descent: The return follows the same way as the ascent.
With many great works of art to be discovered, this hiking circuit from Brixen/Bressanone runs to St. Andrä/S. Andrea and then Klerant/Cleran. In fact, a number of the small churches on the low-lying St. Andrä mountains are home to masterpieces of the late Gothic period. The sacred aura and historical significance of these treasured works of art make the scenic Eisacktal Valley even more captivating.
If you want your winter holiday in South Tyrol to be a different experience then you are in the right place in Klausen, Feldthurns, Barbian and Villanders. You will holiday in peaceful villages in the southern Eisack valley.
Just behind the J. Freinademetz Parish Church and the rectory, follow the route up to St. Josephstraße street and from there turn right southwards to the Karlspromenade (Charles Promenade) as far as the Maria am Sand Sanctuary. Then descend passing Karlsburg Castle, crossing Plosestraße road and follow the Koflerweg trail up to Sarnser Straße road. At this point, you can either turn to the right and back to the starting point, or take the Don-Bosco-Straße road down to the Eisack river embankment and follow the river in northerly direction until reaching the city center.
A leisurely circular hike from Klerant/Cleran to St. Andrä/S. Andrea on the low hills of mount Plose.
Along the road to S. Leonardo/St. Leonhard, until the settlement area to the left (signposted), along a forest paths north to Cornale/Karnol, there uphill along the field trail no. 6 to Burgstall. Back direction south though the forest (trail no. 12) on the sports grounds to the starting point.
The tour leads through the village of Naz and then turns right onto the Villages round trip [Dörferrunde] through the Fruhnwald forest up to the Waldertor viewpoint. Past Fiumes/Viums and the Viummer crossing, the route leads mainly through forest paths up to Sciaves. Continue through the village and then go left along the Villages round trip through forest and later through orchards, up to the Flötscher pond. At the Seehof Hotel, cross the road and continue through meadows and woods, always along the signposted road to Rasa/Raas. Continue through the cultural grounds passing the water reservoir back to the street towards Naz. Follow the street to the right, at the Laugen sports field following the sign Dörferrunde. From here, the Villages round trip leads back to the starting point.
Starting point of the hike is the Widmann bridge in Brixen. Shortly along the O. von Guggenberg Street, turn right and on the Plattenweg path (marking 6) uphill to Cornale. Continue along the Via Crucis to San Andrea at the parish church of the same name. On the San Andrea loop trail the hike leads in a southerly direction to Meluno di Sopra and Cleran. From here take trail no. 8 down to Millan. On the Karlspromenade promenade descend to the Karlsburg residence and through the Plose path back to the starting point.
The little church of St. John the Baptist is located in Cornale and stands on a charming rounded hill. The Martyrdom of St. Ursula, which dates back to the Renaissance (c. 1520), is of excellent artistic quality.
The parish church of S. Andrea was first mentioned in 1177. Its late Gothic renovation around 1485 with presbytery and bell tower is still characteristic.
In Cleran the little church of S. Nicolò impresses the visitor with its rich late Gothic ornamental frescoes. The cycle of the Passion of Christ is a pictorial jewel of excellent quality.
The pilgrimage church of "Maria am Sand" with its depiction of the Madonna is the old parish church of Millan and dates back to the 14th century.
From the swimming pool in Chiusa/Klausen, you walk along the main road to the crossroads for Velturno/Feldthurns. Follow the marked Wine Trail (Weinwanderweg), first along the road and then through the Leitach vineyards past various wineries up to the Hienghof farm and from there back down to the swimming pool. On the way you will get a fascinating insight into winegrowing in the Eisacktal valley and learn about the different varieties of grape.
This extended circuit along the Archeopfad Archaeological Trail leads from Brixen/Bressanone through the vineyards and fruit farms to the Natz-Schabs/Naz-Sciaves plateau, covered in apple orchards. Passing two natural biotopes, the scenic trail runs from the northernmost vineyards in South Tyrol as far as the Augustinian Canons Monastery of Neustift/Novacella before returning to Brixen. This all-encompassing trail passes through some of the most beautiful cultural landscapes in South Tyrol.
Start the trail at the church in Natz, then follow trail no. 4 to Raas and further to the Neustift Abbey.
On the way back follow the trail along the river Eisack for about 45 minutes to Brixen (trail no. 16 or 16a through the vineyards). Return back by public bus to Natz.
This relaxed winter hike takes you to the summit of Steiner Mandl, where you can enjoy an incredible 360° panoramic view. Take the Jochtal cable car up to 2,006 m, where the Jochtal mountain restaurant offers a great spot for a break.
From the mountain station, follow trail 1a to the nearby Ochsenalm and then continue to the gentle summit of Steiner Mandl at 2,118 m. The return path follows the same route back to the mountain station.
By car we go to the parking place "Huber Kreuz". On the trail nr. 4 we arrive at the "Obere Horn". Then we take the way nr. 1 until the "Untere Horn". For the return are two possibilities: a.) From the "Untere Horn" we take the trails 3A to the "Pennleger" and then the trail nr. 3B to "Huber Kreuz". b.) From the "Untere Horn" we take the trail nr. 15 to the mountain pine distillery and than nr. 4 to "Huber Kreuz".
To walk from Naz to Bressanone, you first follow the trail marked 1 to Elvas and then go down on trail nos. 1 or 2 to the town of Bressanone.
Following Lüsnerstraße road (via Guggenbergstraße street, trail no. 6), turn right on the path to Trunthof farm – past the bridge to the left – northwards on the Psalmenweg trail until you reach Lüsnerstraße. From here, the trail descends to Andreas-Hofer-Brücke bridge, before ascending again to Seeburg Castle and back to Bressanone/Brixen, via the Adlerbrücke bridge on trail no. 1.
