Hotel description
The Öbersthof is a small mountain farm at 1364m above sea level and offers guests from allover the opportunity to vacation in the middle of the Sarntal Alps. From the accommodation you can go on various hikes and the view promises a lot. From the farm towards the north-east, the Durnholzer Tal and Reinswald can be seen in the background. In the east on the Sarner Scharte the sun rises for us from winter to autumn. The Sarntal extends to the south and in the southernmost background rises the Schwarzhorn and the Weißhorn, which border on the southwest side of the Rosengarten-Latemar area. To visit us in Glern, it is about a 30-minute drive from Bolzano. The Reinswald ski and hiking area is about a 30-minute drive away, as is Lake Durnholz. The cozy village of Sarnthein, like our mountain farm Öttenbach, can be reached by car in 10 minutes. Our farm includes a 10 hectare forestry area that covers more than our own wood needs. Thanks to our additional 4 hectares of meadows and pastures, we can keep cows on our farm to raise calves and cattle. Farm life also includes a few chickens and a cat. For several years now, in addition to the new farmhouse, we have also set up a holiday apartment and are pleased to be able to share our natural home with you. The wood for the construction of the house was cut from our forest and was completed in collaboration with local craft businesses in 2019. The holiday apartment is located on the second floor of the farmhouse and offers two bedrooms to accommodate a maximum of three adults and two children. The holiday apartment is equipped with a fully equipped kitchen-living room, two bedrooms, each with a double bed, a bathroom including bidet, shower and washing machine, satellite TV and balcony. Our guests can also use the children's playground at the edge of the forest and the private parking space in the open garage under the house. We are mountain farmers with heart and soul and like to talk about our life and work on the farm. We obtain our own electricity from the turbine built in 1994, which can generate up to 6kW of electricity depending on the season. We also heat the house with renewable energy, solar and hydropower, in the winter times the floor heating is additionally operated using our own wood reserves. Children of all ages are very welcome and one baby cot is also available upon request. Please add the number of children and their ages to your request to receive the adjusted prices.
