If you are arriving from Germany via the Brennerautobahn motorway to South Tyrol, you will need a Vignette toll sticker (toll fee) for the Austrian section of the route. 
 

For a single trip, the route toll for entering South Tyrol on the Brenner motorway is EUR 10.50.  
 

Traffic on South Tyrol's roads greatly depends on how much holiday traffic there is during a given period. For a relaxed journey, it is best to inform yourself in good time about the current traffic situation and available parking spaces.
 

Many Dolomite passes are open only in summer, while other are open year round. The tops of passes are also easy to reach without a car. For a sustainable journey, head by bus, on foot, with a bike or via cable car.
