Hotel description
The Alpine Lodge St Andrä apartment is located on the northern edge of Mairdorf, a small hamlet in St Andrä at Ploseberg, 900 metres above sea level. The house, which contains two other apartments besides the Alpine Lodge St. Andrä, is surrounded by a forest, perched above the meadows of Mairdorf. Views from the house wander over the expanse of the Eisack Valley up to the Rittner Horn at the southern horizon. From the nearby “Guggenbichl” (meaning panoramic hill), one can see the old town of Brixen “from above”. The Alpine Lodge St Andrä has a central position within the scenic, mountainous Tyrolean region, which can be evidenced by the views of the Zillertal Alps (including the Pfunderer mountains), the Wilde Kreuzspitze (which you will feel close enough to touch), the Weißzint and Hochfeiler (with its eternal glaciers in the north), as well as the beauty of the Sarntaler Alps (with the Schalderer mountains to the west).

About the region

Starting from Brennerpass and extending to a hint of the Mediterranean in Bolzano/Bozen, the high peeks, gentle hills and dazzling valleys of Brixen and environs unfold with their characteristic apples, wine and chestnuts. Southern flair, enchanting cities and authentic South Tyrolean traditions await you during your holiday in the Valley of Trails.

Trails connect. North and south, villages and small cities, mountains and valleys, and landscapes both cultural and natural. In the region Brixen and environs, everything revolves around the trails that call out to be followed and discovered during your holiday. The thematic diversity of hiking possibilities extend from simple, family-oriented hikes to challenging high-altitude ascents, and from educational walks to traditional trails. In the cities of Brixen, Klausen/Chiusa and Sterzing/Vipiteno, whispers of the Mediterranean and a hint of urbanity are well-worth the trip. Shining with rich history, beautiful attractions and a successful mix of customs and innovation. The origins of a characteristic South Tyrolean tradition come alive in Brixen and environs: Every year during fall as part of Törggelen, young wines are sampled along with a series of speciality dishes and chestnuts in small Buschenschänken farmhouse inns.
