The Winestore Mair has stood for quality, passion and expert guidance for more than 30 years. In 1986, owner Günther Maier discovered his deep enthusiasm for fine wines and spirits. Through courses, travels and decades of experience, he developed a refined sense for unique grape varieties and rare specialties. Together with Irene, he runs the wine store with professionalism and dedication.

Today, the Maier Wine Store offers an impressive selection of over 800 wines from South Tyrol, Italy and around the world, as well as a variety of spirits, beers and gourmet products. Wines can be tasted in the shop and selected with personal advice. For many years, the Maier Wine Store has been a trusted address for connoisseurs and wine lovers.

We are a family-run store specilazing in premium home textiles and duvets, including our exclusive, temperature-regulating „Twin Comfort“ duvet. Our offering extends to include bed sheets, bed linen, terry towels, warm plaids and woolen blankets. Our customers will also find traditional alpine and Tyrolean products as well as for home textiles for kids.

What to do when your employer makes you redundant? You take
the first step (ironic, considering he worked in a shoe factory
before) towards the right decision: in Gino Gatti’s case that meant
making his passion for photography into his daily breadwinner.
All this happened in 1960 – but this wasn’t Gino’s first rodeo. He’d
nurtured his passion for taking snapshots for years and he’d already
turned it into a money-making activity. To round off his family’s
income, he used to photograph events during his spare time. The
jump from side hustle to main business was immediate, and he
soon opened his own shop. His son Stefano was also a passionate
photographer, and so learnt the tricks and tips of being behind the
shutter as a child. Both father and son would take pictures during
their work breaks, when hiking in the mountains, and when out
and about surrounded by nature. When all the other kids soaked up
the sunshine during the summer holidays, Stefano could be found
working in the shop and spending time in the darkroom. His regular
apprenticeship started at the age of 16 and, in 1996, he took over the
business when Gino retired.

Edible flowers are a feast for the senses: At Oberhof, we offer the Flowers & Mountains Experience, which includes an presentation and tasting of edible flowers, a tour of our permaculture farm that grows over 350 heirloom vegetables, herbs and flowers, and an outdoor lunch in front of the majestic Geisler mountains, featuring edible flowers prepared by the chefs from Alma 9 restaurant (Bolzano). The lunch menu will include ingredients from Oberhof and other farms participating in the Villnöss Slow Food Travel project.

A restored and modernised sparkling wine cellar with an impressive tasting room has been constructed between the "Portici" and the "Via Galilei". This took place in the historic headquarters of the Cantina Lagundo under the guiding hand of the well-known architect Werner Tscholl. The City.Vinothek gives all sparkling wine and wine lovers the opportunity to gain an even deeper insight into the intensive and exclusive sparkling wine production of the BRUT RISERVA 36 according to the "metodo classico".

Directly opposite the new City.Vinothek you will also find the unique: the only and oldest distillery in Merano, where grappa has been distilled for over 150 years with the best South Tyrolean craft tradition and "aqua vitae" of the highest quality is produced. The well-known, excellent grappa from Merano finds its origin there. The distillates - such as Treber, Gewürztraminer (Traminer aromatic), Chardonnay, Goldmuskateller (Moscato Giallo) and Pinot Noir - are noble and harmonious in taste, with the scent and intensity of local grape varieties from Merano and the surrounding area.
