The company Wimex was founded in 2000 as an individual enterprise by Elmar Zöschg.
From the very beginning, Wimex has been developing and producing innovative and high quality products for the household. Those articles are exclusively produced in Europe and sold directly to end users, in order to be able to explain the specific characteristics of the products appropriately.
Wimex is divided into three independent divisions:
Wimex-Party: Production and direct sale of high quality cookware and vacuum systems as well as cleaning lines for the household, which are sold to customers primarily through individual presentations at home;
Wimex-Detail: Production and sale of cleaning products such as Bio-Mex, Bio-Fox, Bio-Star, Flip-Mex, Login; door and window stoppers Stoppy and Flux specifically for retailers;
Gustos: Sale of South Tyrolean culinary specialties as "Schüttelbrot" (bread), smoked food, cheese and egg noodles.
The Weltladen Schlern is located near the centre of Castelrotto and is run by volunteers from the surrounding area. It is the youngest among the 16 Fair Trade Shops in South Tyrol and opened its doors in November 2019.
The concept of the shop is to support disadvantaged producers in the Global South through fair working conditions, wages and social projects instead of exploiting them in the current economic system. Imported food, cosmetics and handicrafts that can be bought in the shop are all Fair Trade certified. Selected South Tyrolean products offered in the shop promote small regional cycles and strengthen small-scale farmers.
In our bakery and pastry shop "Fabian Profanter - my bakery" in Millan, Plose Street, renovated and expanded in 2018, you will find a wide selection of breads, pizzas, traditional pastries and cakes, which are also made to order in various shapes and sizes in our in-house bakery. In addition you will find organic products such as fruits and vegetables, cheeses and meats, dairy products, beverages and more. We also have many regional, gluten-free and lactose-free products. Artisanal ice cream made by our master can be purchased in the store or enjoyed in our "Capriccio" Bar right next to the store in Millan. A selection of all these products can also be found in our branch "Strudel House" in the old town of Brixen on Adlerbrückengasse street.
