Hike to the Latemarhütte Mountain Hut
    Deutschnofen/Nova Ponente, Dolomites Region Eggental
This hike is one of the most impressive adventures in the Eggental region – perfect for experienced hikers looking to immerse themselves in the true spirit of the Dolomites. The journey starts comfortably with a scenic chairlift ride, leading straight into high alpine terrain.
Just a few minutes later, the panoramic platform offers an unforgettable 360° view of the surrounding peaks. From here, the panoramic trail gradually reveals the raw beauty of the Latemar range, with its towering cliffs and dramatic rock formations.
The ascent to the Torre di Pisa hut winds through wild, rocky landscapes, past jagged pinnacles and majestic stone towers. Circular hike along the Hirzelsteig | Masarè path

The Hirzel path is a popular high-altitude hiking path along the Rosengarten | Catinaccio massif, running between the Kölner | Fronza alle Coronelle hut and the Rotwand | Roda di Vael hut. It remains at a relatively constant elevation and offers continuous, breathtaking views of the Latemar massif, the Eggental valley, and the surrounding mountain landscape. The trail runs at the base of the imposing Rosengarten | Catinaccio peaks and massive rock faces, mostly following narrow paths and occasionally crossing steep slopes - surefootedness and a head for heights are essential. The majestic Rosengarten | Catinaccio appears close enough to touch. A special highlight along the route is the Christomannos monument - a striking bronze eagle commemorating Theodor Christomannos, whose life's work included the development of the famous Dolomites Road from Welschnofen | Nova Levante to Cortina d'Ampezzo.

Into the heart of the Rosengarten | Catinaccio massif – Vajolon

The hike to the Vajolonpass | Passo Vajolon is one of the most scenic tours in the Rosengarten | Catinaccio area. It runs in close proximity to the mighty rock walls of the Rotwand | Roda di Vael and offers a varied landscape along the way - from alpine meadows and dwarf pine slopes to rugged high mountain terrain during the ascent. What makes this tour particularly special is the immediate closeness to the dramatic rock formations of the Rosengarten | Catinaccio, especially the striking Rotwand | Roda di Vael, whose imposing appearance is especially awe-inspiring up close. The Vajolonpass | Passo Vajolon itself is nestled between steep rock faces and offers a spectacular view back over the Eggental valley and across to the Latemar massif.

Dolomites Alpine Ridgeway (Dolomiten-Höhenweg) No. 5
