Every year in Italy, the feast of Ferragosto, is celebrated on the 15th of August. The holiday refers to the Assumption of Mary into heaven and marks the hottest day of summer and is thus also considered the „turning point of summer “. The feast day begins with a High Mass at 09.00 a.m. in the parish church of Ortisei, during which the traditional consecration of medicinal herbs and flowers takes place. After the Holy Mass there is a folkloristic procession in the pedestrian area of Ortisei. The day will be musically framed by the alpine horns „Ladinia“ at 10.00 a.m. along the pedestrian area. At 9.30 p.m. there will be the concert with the "Merano Pop Symphony Orchestra" in the town centre.

The procession will be in Ehrenburg/Casteldarne at 8:30 am. From 11:00 a.m. music concert.

In the heart of summer, the village celebrates good weather with a special event. The San Vigilio Music Band will perform a concert, followed by a raffle with prizes. A perfect opportunity to enjoy the festive atmosphere, meet the local community and spend moments of joy and conviviality. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase in all San Vigilio shops.

The small village of Rina is preparing to celebrate Ferragosto (August 15th). You will be able to enjoy the tasty dishes of the local tradition, accompanied by the music of the music band of Rina, which will offer an engaging concert, with a mix of traditional music and pop and modern adaptations. It will be a true village festival, in a small town in the heart of the Dolomites.

Patronal festivity at the fairground in Oberbozen. Every year on August 15, the Oberbozen music band organizes this traditional and widely known event. The day begins with a Mass at 8.30 a.m. followed by a procession and blessing of herbs at Maria Himmelfahrt. Brunch starts at 11 a.m. at the festivity ground with music by the band. In the afternoon, at 2 p.m., the band invites you to the themed parade. The traditional parade of the associations of Selva Val Gardena is a colorful celebration that honors Alpine traditions. Participants wear traditional costumes and perform dances and typical music along the streets of Selva. It's an occasion to celebrate cultural heritage and experience the hospitality of the region.

On Friday, 22 and Saturday, 23 August 2025, Monguelfo transforms into a chocolate lover’s paradise! The 15th Chocolate Festival promises two days of sweet highlights, irresistible treats, and cocoa-filled surprises. In the heart of the village centre, the enticing Chocolate & Gourmet Market invites you to explore the finest creations of skilled chocolatiers: melt-in-the-mouth chocolate bars, handcrafted pralines with fruity or nutty fillings, and artistically shaped chocolate figures – from cute animals to elegant high heels. Here, every chocolate heart will find its joy! Accompanied by live music, a colourful children’s programme and a cheerful festival atmosphere, the event offers a delightful experience for the whole family. And for those seeking a short break from the sweetness, the food stalls serve hearty regional dishes – perfect for recharging your taste buds before the next chocolate indulgence. The festival kicks off on Friday at 04:00 pm. with the opening of the Chocolate & Gourmet Market and the creative local craft fair. At the same time, the children’s activities begin with fun games and face painting. At 04:30 pm., the Monguelfo-Tesido youth band provides a festive musical welcome, followed by the official opening at 05:30 pm. The evening continues with live music from the “Sillianer Buibm” until late. On Saturday, the festival resumes at 10:00 am. with market stalls, artisan crafts and a wide range of children’s entertainment – including trampoline fun, craft corners and much more. In the morning, the group “Gipfelblech” brings lively brass music to the stage, followed by traditional folk dances from Innervillgraten in the afternoon. The Monguelfo-based band “COMBO7” takes over in the evening with international classics and timeless hits – with the big festival lottery drawing at 08:00 pm as the grand finale. In the historical ambience of Churburg Castle, Lichtenberg Castle ruins, Fürstenburg Castle and Marienberg Monastery, spectacular show battles will keep the spectators in suspense from 22 to 24 August 2025. Come along on a journey to the Middle Ages! Proud knights take aim at their opponents. They dash into battle on their elegant horses, lances burst, armour clatters, the noble lords crown their victor. The crowd cheers and marvels at all kinds of exotic and curious things. 2,000 performers from 11 countries offer the most extensive programme in the Alpine region! All attractions on the grounds are free of charge: Shows, camel and donkey rides, archery, children's tournaments, petting zoo, carousels, children's entertainment.
