Today Badia celebrates the traditional "segra dl paisc", a festival for the whole village! The day begins with a solemn mass in the church, followed by the traditional cattle homecoming at 3.00 p.m. Of course, there are also culinary specialities and musical entertainment. Join our village festival too! During the event photos or video footage may be taken for the purpose of documentation and promotion of the event and the region. The footage may be used and published on websites, on social networks and on media in compliance with the data protection regulations.

When summer slowly draws to a close, the farmers bring their cows, calves, and sheep down from the mountain pastures. The reception in the valley is a celebration for everyone! Start of the festival at 10.00 am Arrival of the animals in Maiern at 11.30am At the end of September, the animals return from their summer retreat. After months of gorging themselves on lush Alpine meadows and recharging their batteries in the sun for the winter, cows and calves, sheep, and lambs migrate from the mountain to the valley. There, the numerous spectators await the festively decorated animals. But only with traditional music, in good company, and South Tyrolean specialities is the Alpine transhumance complete. Enjoyment and fun are well taken care of!

The horseracing weekend also comprises other competitions of international importance, such as the Price of Nations (which is linked to the Crystal Cup) on September 27th, whilst the main event, the 86th Meran South Tyrol Grand Prix will be held on September 28th. Meran’s Racecourse will offer a richly diverse culinary programme, including a tasty preview of the Merano WineFestival.

At the end of September, it’s that time again – the village of Colle in Val Casies Valley invites you to the traditional Keila Kirschta! The festivities kick off on Saturday with the ceremonial raising of the Kirschta Michl tree, followed by a lively evening with live music and a fantastic atmosphere in the festival tent. The highlight of the weekend is Sunday’s grand parade and cattle drive. Beautifully adorned animals, magnificently decorated festival wagons, and the solemn procession of marching bands turn the village into a vibrant stage of tradition and culture. Sunday, September 28th, starting at 10:00 AM, the Marling's Music Group invites you to their traditional "Törggelen" Festivity at the Marling fairground! 🎉 Look forward to a selection of delicious South Tyrolean specialties! Program: Starting at 10:00 AM, morning pint with Bohemian music and the youth music group "Musig Unlocked" (young musicians from Algund, Gratsch, Tscherms, and Marling). Afterwards, from 2:00 PM, "Törggelen" afternoon with another live music group. The Marling Music Group is excited to welcome you and treat you to delicious food! 🌟

At 10.30 a.m. the feast starts with the celebration of the word and the blessing of the cattle at the cross Schnaggen. Afterwards the festivities begin with musical entertainment by the "Oachner Böhmische". Food and drink are well provided. Enjoy fresh farmer's Krapfen directly there. There will also be entertainment for children and the Oachner Goaßlschnöller.

Autumn days in Tramin …enjoy the golden autumn! The South Tyrolean Wine road changes into a colourful sea of vineyards and orchards. The farmers are in their heyday and the harvest gets taken in. Soon the barrels will be full, the fermentation of the popular juice from the grapes doesn’t take long to begin. Now the “Neue” new wine can be sampled, the most important moment of the year for the farmers. And celebrated it will be. How the new wine tastes – that will be found out by the people of Tramin and its guests during the traditional Autumn Days Tramin at the latest, which are always at the end of October. People of all age groups meet at the festival area that is richly decorated with lots of harvest products for a joyful festival. The “Neue” new wine and wines from Tramin get sampled; and along with this there are hearty South Tyrolean specialities. And all of the colourful shenanigans at the festival area are accompanied by the colourful and melodious performances of folk music groups. From Vinschger Paarlen rye bread and Puschtra Breatlan farmers’ bread to Schüttelbrot flat bread, country-style baked goods have always been an important part of life in Brixen. So it’s no surprise that the old town alone has around ten bakeries, each offering a unique selection of tempting goods. On the first weekend in October each year, Brixen celebrates its baking traditions. Don’t miss this opportunity to sample the scrumptious selection of savoury and sweet creations on offer on the cathedral square.

Traditional transhumance with entertainment and folk music. Back home, this is the ideal reference for livestock, including cows, horses, sheep and goats after a summer spent on the Alpe di Siusi returning to their stables. The transhumance accompanied by a celebration takes place on the Saturday just before the feast of the harvest. This year the event takes place on 4th October 2025. Accompanied by bells and wreaths the animals inhabit the area of Compaccio at 10am. The colourful herd consisting of 250 animals, some carts and some classic-style tractors will leave the Alpe di Siusi at this very time.

Traditional Transhumance with Festivities and Folk Music. In October, it’s time for the cattle, horses, goats, and sheep that spent the summer on the Seiser Alm to return to the valley. On the Seiser Alm, the Transhumance is traditionally celebrated on Rosary Saturday, the Saturday before the Harvest Festival. Starting at 10:30 a.m., cows adorned with flower wreaths and bells fill the streets of Compatsch. The colorful herd of around 250 cattle, sheep, horses, and goats, along with decorated carts, then heads towards the valley and Kastelruth around midday. Festivities on the Seiser Alm in Compatsch begin at 10:00 a.m. with commentary - the „Goasslschnalzern“, alphorn players, the dance group „Alpler Plattler Gitschen“, the brass band "St. Martin in Thurn", the music group "Schlernblech", a farmers' market, and demonstrations of old farming crafts. Food and drink will be provided. Festivities in Kastelruth start at 10:00 a.m. with commentary - For many years, it has been a tradition to celebrate the return from the Alm with music, dancing, food, and drink. The Farmers' Buffet and the Hunting Association of Kastelruth will provide refreshments at the entrance to Kastelruth, along the beautiful promenade. The Alphorn players, the Garner „Schuhplattler“, the „Goasslschnalzer“ and the musical group „Schlernwind“ will provide entertainment. The festive procession with the animals and their handlers is expected to arrive in Kastelruth around 1:30 p.m. We recommend that you watch the entire Transhumance from the Seiser Alm to Kastelruth, as not all animals make it to Kastelruth. Some farmers take their animals to their farms before reaching Kastelruth. You can easily reach the Seiser Alm with the Seiser Alm Cable Car from Seis am Schlern. On this special day, you can use the Seis-Seiser Alm Cable Car at a special price of €14.00 (round trip)! Buses no. 3, 3A and 172 run between the Seiser Alm cable car and Kastelruth. Please note the road closures: after a certain time, no buses will run to Kastelruth, so you may need to travel to Telfen and walk from there to Kastelruth. Tour buses can reach the Seiser Alm before 9:00 a.m. Since the road will be closed for return traffic until 2:00 p.m., tour buses can only drive down after 2:00 p.m. Alternatively, tour buses can park at the Seiser Alm Cable Car station, and guests can reach the Seiser Alm by cable car. In Kastelruth, tour buses can drop off guests at the bus station and then park at the "Tirlerhof" parking lot, 1 km away. Please pay attention to road closures.

Two-day festival in St. Magdalena with traditional farmers' market around the topic Speck, culinary delicacies such as speck, farmer's bread and "tirtlen" and musical entertainment.

At 10.00 a.m. the cattle will be decorated at the Malga Tuff from where they will be driven to Fiè. They will arrive at Fiè at approximately 11.30 a.m. or 12.00 p.m. At 1.00 p.m. there will be benediction of the cattle followed by a festival at the festival place Völs.

"Autumn Festival at the Old Vine of Margreid" – the planting date 1601 is set in stone. Typical seasonal dishes will be served, including chestnuts, goulash with plent (cornmeal mush), spinach dumplings, Strauben (fried dough pastries), and other delicious specialties. Musical entertainment will also be provided.

Thanksgiving Day in Kastelruth is an annual event where the people of the community express their gratitude for a successful harvest year. On the day of the celebration a Holy Mass is held, followed by a procession through the streets of the village. The procession starts at the church and goes through the streets of Kastelruth, while the villagers sing their harvest songs. At the end of the procession, the congregation gathers in the village square, where our local parish priest concludes the Mass and gives God's blessing to all those present.

A special event awaits you at the cattle drive in St. Zyprian on the Platzliner meadow! The festivities start at 11:00 am, and around 1:30 pm, the beautifully decorated cattle will return from the alpine pastures to the valley – a colorful spectacle that brings tradition and culture to life. There will be lively music and entertainment, and of course, delicious regional specialties to satisfy your appetite. The farming associations of Tiers am Rosengarten look forward to welcoming you in great numbers for an unforgettable day together!

On Sunday, October 5, from 10:00 to 18:00, the traditional "Törggelen" festivity of the Marling folk dance group will take place on the Marling fairground. Food and drink will be provided. The morning pint starts at 10 a.m. Hearty traditional Törggelen with delicious roasted chestnuts and a glass of sweet wine are served from midday onwards. A youth band and a music group will provide atmospheric entertainment. You can look forward to a convivial Törggelen afternoon. The Marling folk dance group is looking forward to seeing you!

Autumn Festival of the Algund Brass Band On Sunday, October 5th, the Algund Brass Band invites you to their second Autumn Festival. Starting at 11:00 AM, enjoy a festive atmosphere with delicious food and great music. Four different music groups will provide entertainment this year: the Algund Youth Band, the philharmonic brass band from Zollernalb, a surprise new ensemble from the Algund Brass Band members, and the renowned "Fetzmusig," a brass ensemble from the Burggrafenamt that has been performing for over 20 years and includes several members of the Algund Brass Band. Culinary delights will be provided by the well-known kitchen of Gasthaus Kienegg in Vellau! The festival will continue until the early evening, and the Algund Brass Band looks forward to welcoming many visitors!

Alpine Folk Music Evening in Algund On Thursday, October 10, 2024, the Raiffeisen Hall at the house of culture Thalguter in Algund will transform into a place filled with traditional Alpine sounds. Starting at 8:30 PM, you can enjoy an evening of authentic folk music from the Alpine region, performed by outstanding music groups. Performers: Die Herwärtigen: Tanzlmusig Algund Die Hoamstanzer Michael Andreas Haas with a guitar solo from Reutte/Tyrol The lively group "Wetterhexn" The evening will be guided by Barbara Plattner. Locals and guests are warmly invited to share in this wonderful event. Admission is a voluntary donation. On local soil, fans of the "Kastelruther Spatzen" have the opportunity to be truly enchanted. The Schlern area, home of the popular "Kastelruther Spatzen", is transformed into a festival area. The "heroes of folk music" provide - surrounded by a unique backdrop of the Dolomites - for mood at the traditional festival of the "Kastelruther Spatzen". A big parking area and an enormous festival tent are built up to celebrate with the "Kastelruther Spatzen" for three days of morning pint, autograph sessions and nice evenings. On 11th October 2025, the traditional cattle drive will once again take place in Rodeneck. The festivities will begin at 11.00 a.m at the Spritzenhütte in Nauders, where you can enjoy a welcoming atmosphere and delicious regional specialties. Around noon, the beautifully adorned cattle will make their way to the Spritzenhütte, accompanied by traditional music – a sight to behold for all ages. The local farmers’ youth and women will provide a variety of tasty local dishes and refreshments. Entertainment will be provided by the "Woazgruiba" band, while the "Ronegga Schuichplattla" will captivate the audience with their lively traditional dance performances. A special highlight of the day is the prize milking competition, where skill and speed come into play. Join us for a day of tradition, music, and culinary delights in the heart of Rodeneck – a celebration for the whole family!
