At the celebration the statue of Mary descends from the altar and is solemnly carried in procession through the village, accompanied by the music band of Silandro and the group “Schützen” with saluting guns. Afterwards, the garden festival of the band of Schlanders will take place at the Matscher Au.
History: 1799 Silandro was threatened by Napoleon's troops, and in this misery the “Schützen” sought their refuge in the grace picture Mary in the parish church. The "Schützen" praised to celebrate this Sunday for all time as a thank you and to bring the statue of Mary in procession through the city. In fact, the enemy withdrew.
