Bolzano/Bozen and Environs, with its tradition of more than 3000 years of wine making, is at its most attractive along the oldest Italian wine road.
The South Tyrolean Wine Road meanders from the Etschtal valley via Bolzano to the Überetsch region and past Kalterer See lake to the Unterland region. Sixteen wine-growing communities border the panoramic road, which offers breathtaking views and interesting insights into the diverse world of South Tyrolean wine. By bike, on foot, by car, on your own or with a guide, there is so much to discover, including small villages and magnificent castles, cool wine cellars and warm inn parlours, gentle hills and steep ridges, aromatic Gewürztraminer and velvety Lagrein wines. A variety of events throughout the year invite visitors to explore and experience the diverse South Tyrolean Wine Road.
