Wolfsthurn Castle – South Tyrolean Museum of Hunting and Fishing
Wolfsthurn Castle stands on a hill above the village of Mareit. Since 1996 it has been home to the South Tyrolean Museum of Hunting and Fishing on three floors. In addition to hunting and fishing from a cultural and historical perspective, the tour leads through the state rooms of the castle, preserved in their original condition to give an impression of aristocratic life in the 18th and 19th centuries. The basement is particularly intended for children with games to help them learn about wild animals. The 1-kilometre “Forest and Water” walking trail around the castle rounds off the visit.
