Behind the Düsseldorfer Hütte mountain hut (offering refreshments and accommodation) at 2,721 m, follow the trail markers on the flat over the rather bouldery moraine terrain to the Tschenglser Hochwand mountain. After ascending into the valley for approx. 30 minutes to about 2,900 m, head left, more steeply up over boulders to the foot of the rocky ridge that leads north to the peak. Here, at approx. 3000 m, the trail splits:the entrance to the new via ferrata is directly over the southern flank just below the ‘Otto-Erich’ (see the signpost). This very worthwhile but difficult via ferrata leads to beautiful, lofty rock passages to the peak. Caution: via ferrata equipment is essential!
