The villages of Nova Levante and Carezza are located close by to South Tyrol’s capital city Bolzano/Bozen at the foot of the legendary peaks of the Rosengarten and Latemar massifs. The face of each is reflected in one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in the Alps, the Karer See lake. A visit to its enchanting waters is worthwhile on holiday in summer or wintertime. The Carezza Ski area, which averages eight hours of sunlight per day in winter, is the sunniest ski area in South Tyrol, offering 40 km of fun on the slopes for beginners, families and experts. The well-known Carezza forest near Nova Levante is the source of tonewood, a wood from which violins in Venice are still made today.
