The La Longia slope lies in the Seceda ski area, in the municipalities of Ortisei/St.Ulrich and S.Cristina/St.Christina in Val Gardena /Gröden valley. It stretches from the mountain station of Seceda cablecar or alternatively the Fermeda chair-lift, winding its way along in gentle turns and curves, buildings and structures dotting the sides of the slope, passing over snow-covered pastures until the Cuca Saddle. The slope then continues through an interesting spot for its geological significance; the curves tighten upon reaching the forest edge, and then widen in broad, long curves throughout the forest up until the mid-station of Furnes. From here, the slope winds its way down through a crevice until the Costamula de Sot hut, rolling on in a slightly steeper area until it reaches the Cuecenes streamlet which will then flow into the Val D’Anna. The breathtaking view over all of South Tyrol and the Dolomites at the start of the slope awakens a sense of freedom in our mountain and skiing enthusiasts. They can enjoy the constantly changing landscape until the Furnes mid-station, dipping down through a ‘canyon’, whose walls glisten with the light cascading across mesmerising icefalls, and finally grit their teeth for the very short, steep stretch which ends in a soft, downhill glide until the valley station of Seceda cablecar. Why not stop at Sofie Hut, the Curona Hut, the Costamula de Sot Hut, the Val D’Anna café and the Pauli Hut, which are conveniently placed along the slope’s route, and finish at the Après Ski Bar Seceda down at the valley station. Enjoy a delicious meal and a pleasant drink or simply put your feet up and relax.
