Sparkling wine tasting and guided visit at the Kettmeir winery. The journey starts with a tour of the historic winery and ends with a final wine tasting. Participants will learn the difference between the definitions Brut, metodo classico and doux. They will also discover what the pupitre is used for and what remouage is. The 37th Bolzano Film Festival Bozen (12 - 21 April 2024) will officially kick off on Friday 12 April 2024 with a screening of the 1919 silent film Blind Husbands by Erich von Stroheim. On the opening evening, at the same time in the three cinemas of the Filmclub, Stroheim's directorial debut film will be screened in a restored and viralised version by the Österreichische Filmmuseum in Vienna and, for the first time in Italy, with live musical accompaniment thanks to the collaboration with the Südtirol Jazz Festival Alto Adige. Dedicated to the mountain guide Sepp Innerkofler, Blind Husbands was filmed at Universal Studios with a backdrop of the Dolomites of Cortina d'Ampezzo and was a great success at the time. Closing the festival on Saturday 21 April will be Linda and the Chicken, a small animated masterpiece directed by Chiara Malta and Sébastien Laudenbach, which won Best Film at the Annecy Animation Festival.

It's spring, nature is awakening and "Lana blossoms" once again from 1 to 30 April 2024. Blossoms and wild herbs once again play a special role in the spring events in Lana and the surrounding area and offer countless opportunities to get to know them better: spring highlights, creative workshops, themed lectures, wild herb hikes and much more are on offer. The Farmers' Mile of Delights in the centre of Lana awaits visitors on Saturday, 6 April with more than 50 South Tyrolean farm stands. The Apple Blossom Golf Tournament on Saturday, 13 April invites you to kick off the golf season with a tee-off and spring menu right on the green. The traditional Blossom Farm Festival on Sunday, 21 April is dedicated to the historic farms and farmsteads, which give the public an insight into farm life and treat them to farmhouse delicacies.

The Ötzi Glacier Tour is an extremely varied one day round tour, which crosses the main chain oft the Alps. It takes place every Tuesday and upon request. The undisputed highlight of this accompanied glacier skitour is the discovery site of Ötzi the Iceman (3,210 m). Starting from Kurzras. From there we will travel by cable car to the Grawand mountain terminal (3,100 m./10,170 ft.), the actual starting point of our tour. From there, we will travel over the Hochjochferner (2,800 m / 9,186 ft.) to the Schwarze Wand and on to the Hauslabjoch (3,280 m./ 10,761 ft.) We will then descend to the Tisenjoch (3,210 m. /10,532 ft.), the site where Ötzi was discovered. After a brief stop, we will ascend to the Hauslabjoch and descend into the Hochjoch Valley and continue down the valley to Kurzras. With suitable snow conditions, the course of the tour may change after the site where Ötzi was discovered: descent past the Similaun Refuge (3,019 m / 9,905 ft.) and through the Tisen Valley to Vernagt am See. Return to Kurzras. Requirements and conditions of participation: change in elevation ↑ approx. 600 m (1,969 ft.), ↓ approx. 2,100 m (6,890 ft.); duration: approx. 7 hours; basic physical condition; good parallel skiing ability (ski tour experience not necessary).

Thus would Walther von der Vogelweide have probably received us, bidding us “willekomen” to his home of Lajen, which he left in the late 12th century in order to conquer the entire German-speaking world with his songs and poems. Walther was the star minnesinger, the one who knew how to entertain the ladies and gentlemen at court – up to and including numerous crowned heads. As a consummate professional, he knew exactly what his audience wanted to hear, whether it was poems about noble ladies and (not so noble) girls, or works with a more solid content: crown, church, crusades.

"LANA IN BLOOM" – in pots and on plates. That spring is tentatively preparing to make its debut, is noticeable from the first bulbs appearing on the new branches of trees and shrubs, or well-tended pot plants in private gardens, and a wide range of herbs growing in the wild. Nature’s reawakening also fires the creative imagination of the restaurant chefs in and around Lana. Between 1 – 30 April 2023, during the "Lana in Bloom" gourmet weeks, there are abundant reinterpretations of traditional delicacies using seasonal wild herbs and fresh local ingredients. Lana’s annual food festival is supplemented with local D.O.C. certified wines, fastidious attention to detail — and an overall ‘feel-good’ atmosphere.

n the villages of Vilpian, Siebeneich and Terlan asparagus has been grown for centuries. Today 15 asparagus growers in Terlan plant approx. 10 ha of high quality asparagus and sell it under the trade mark and hallmark of excellence Margarete. The elegant looking and extremely mild tasting Terlan asparagus is very popular with the connoisseurs of this white spring vegetable. In April and May several restaurants invite visitors to enjoy classic and creative asparagus dishes made with the valuable Margarete asparagus. Fresh asparagus with home-cured ham, boiled potatoes and Bozner sauce is one of the classics. The meal is accompanied by the fine, mineral containing Terlano “asparagus wine” (Sauvignon) from the Terlan winery.

What better way to celebrate Spring’s reawaking than at start of the Martell Valley. An organized hike leads past Obermontani Castle and the ruins of Untermontani, where the original manuscript of the Song of the Nibelungs dating to 1323 was discovered. Crossing through the fascinating countryside around Laces/Latsch we reach Goldrain Castle to discover a Renaissance gem.

Special exhibition at the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology Hunger is the best cook, 15,000 years ago as well as today. The special exhibition takes a look at the menu of our ancestors: the origin, preparation and preservation of food as well as the equipment used for this. A special focus is placed on local eating habits and regional archaeological finds. In addition to cultural-historical aspects, the multifaceted exhibition shows that our ancestors were never at a loss for an idea to satisfy their hunger and ensure that their food supplies lasted. Foods such as meat and fish, wild grains, wild fruits and honey were known from the very beginning. Other foods that we take for granted today, such as pulses, spices and cereals, were only brought to Europe by migratory movements in the course of human history. Food traditions that we are familiar with today, such as the processing of milk or the cultivation of wine, were introduced from the Mediterranean region at various times. Enjoy your meal! Local history tells that one of the oldest Baptist churches of the surroundings was rising on this beautiful square. Today, the Parish Church stands on an even older site dating back to the preromanesque period (lombard-carolingian architecture) and is one of the rare examples of a cross-domed church with central nave and side naves.

The panoramic tour of Lake Resia is one of the most beautiful bike tours in the Vinschgau Valley. Riding along Lake Resia, always the Ortler, the Königsspitze and the Cevedale in front of your eyes. The tour ist not guided, but everything is well signposted.
