The brand-new "SONNEN" 10-seat cable car will launch in December 2023 at Klausberg in the Skiworld Ahrntal. It replaces the old 3-seat "Sonnen" ski lift and offers a modern and comfortable ride for 10 people per cabin to over 2,100 m in just 6:12 minutes.
After comprehensive planning, the project started in November 2022. The new lift is a tried-and-tested model from Doppelmayr, chosen for its performance and safety. With a capacity of 2400 people per hour and a focus on child safety, the lift offers an impressive upgrade.
The work is primarily carried out by local companies to ensure short production and delivery routes and to support the local economy. The project will be completed in the fall of 2023 and the first rides will start in December 2023.
Along with the lift upgrade, existing slopes are made wider and safer to enhance the skiing experience. Therefore, "SONNEN" offers a complete upgrade, both in terms of the lift system and the slopes.

The Alpe di Seceda is located on the sunny side of Val Gardena, at the foot of the Parco Naturale Cisles-Odle (nature reserve), part of the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage and represents an ideal base for hikes and climbing tours.
At the top station of the cable car you can enjoy a marvellous view of almost the entire South Tyrol as well as of the mountains in Trentino, Lombardy and Austria. Last but not least, you can admire the breathtaking peaks of the nearby Dolomites, of course: from the Tofane, the Sciliar and the Sella Massif to the Sassolungo and the "pearl" of the Dolomites, the "Marmolada".
From the Seceda summit you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Dolomites and of all the mountains in South Tyrol - from Ortles to Großglockner (Austria).
Covered with pines, the Ciampinoi mountain rises to the south of Selva Gardena sheltered by Sassolungo, a majestic peak in the Dolomites, which towers above it.
The Sassolungo summit dominates Val Gardena with its three residential areas. From the valley bottom the visitor can admire the Odle, Cir, Sella, and Sciliar peaks in the immediate surroundings, the Tofane further away in Veneto, the Ortles and Adamello groups in the west or even some distant mountains in Austria.
The ultimate fun for freeride junkies and those who want to become one. The freeride track starts directly on the top of Ciampinoi.
In winter the ski runs, which have been known since the late 1930s and hosted the 1970 Alpine Skiing World Championships, offer fantastic descents towards Selva Gardena, Santa Cristina and Plan de Gralba.
The lifts and slopes of Ciampinoi are linked to the famous Sellaronda ski circuit, which allows the skier to ski all four valleys surrounding the spectacular Sella Group.
Not only ski fans have a lot to discover on the Croda Rossa. In addition to the Holzriese, the steepest slope in Italy, there is a lot to experience, especially for families: the only reindeer herd of the Alps, the giant snowman family, which is waiting for you at the mountain station and a toboggan run that takes you back to the valley.
Our cable railway will bring you easily to Val Gardena's most beautiful pasture. At the summit of the station a breathtaking panorama is waiting for you: the Geisler Peaks, Stevia and the Sella Group, the mountain group of Sassolungo with the Molignon and the Sciliar, as well as the mountain of Pic - a 360° view par excellence!
