    Geologic route "Höllental"
Tramin an der Weinstraße/Termeno sulla Strada del Vino, Alto Adige Wine Road

Along the geological path you will find a lot of signs and stations that shows the geology and the connected relations. The main attraction of the trail is the "Höllenbach" catastrophe of 1986. Following the path you will arrive on a big rock of tufa and the S. Nepomuk santuary. This rock last a violent mudslud and reminds the power of nature. The next sign reminds the mudslide of 1986. Just a short look to the panorama shows the different layers of rock from Montan to Weis and Schwarzhorn. Nearby you will find another rock. That's a Voltago conglomerate who resisted a mudslide 245 millions of years ago. After it there's the possibility to take a little break on a quiet island with 5 columns and a little bench with some small different rockets from the sourroundings. On the dam of the river a sign will explane you the different layers of the rock infront of you. The last sign indicate some fossils which where found in the river bed and with a bit of luck also you could find one.

    Pfeifer Huisele path
    Ratschings/Racines, Sterzing/Vipiteno and environs

Starting at the inn Jaufensteg, the Pfeifer-Huisile-Path leads along the valley path to Bichl/Colle and on to Vallettina, where the ruins of the birthplace of the sorcerer can be seen. The "Pfeifer Huisele", which was above all distinguished by his humour, is without doubt one of the most famous Tyrolean mythical figures. In the manner of Till Eulenspiegel, a well-known folklore character from northern Germany, he roamed through valleys and mountains on his little donkey. His ideas were so whimsical that you can still laugh about them today. Along the way, several information signs in text and pictures inform about the life of the Pfeifer Huisile. To get back to the starting point, you can either walk back the same way or take the public bus from Larchhof.

    Around Trodena/Trodena
    Truden/Trodena
Due to its isolated position, Trodena still retained many testimonies of what men have conceived, built and transformed here over the centuries. On the circular route of Trodena we will learn about the centuries-old urban culture. From the town square we move towards the upper part of the town, pass in front of a 700-year-old lime tree and walk along the paved road up to the entrance to the town. From there we follow trail marker 3 to a parking lot. From the panoramic road (3A) we come to a viewing platform, a sort of balcony. from which we can admire the "3 horns": Corno Nero, Corno Bianco and Monte Corno. This is where the geological "line" of Trodena develops. The view over the roofs of Trodena testifies to the division of the farms that has taken place for generations. We then walk until we reach the Via Cislon. From here we follow trail no. 1 to return to the starting point of Trodena, which we will reach through the historic center.
Tip: take a walk in the village to discover the "The walls tell" project ... The brochure is available at the tourist office. Also discover the Monte Corno Visitor Center

Trejer Alm (Äußere Michlreis Alm) [alpine hut]
Sand in Taufers/Campo Tures, Ahrntal/Valle Aurina

The Speikboden is more than just a favorite ski area. It is also an ideal hiking area. The mountain got its name from a little flower that grows in the high mountains – Alpine valerian, or “Speik” in German – and that is in fact because this lovely flower is often found in the hiking area.

With the cable cars you can reach the "Speikboden Alm" at 2000 metres of altitude or the Sonnklar mountain at 2400 metres above sea level. Both are starting points for fantastic walks and hikes along well maintained trails. Particularly popular are the sunrise walks - to spot the first sunrays while the valley still lies in darkness is a memorable experience.
