The valleys are criss-crossed with trails through vineyards and apple orchards, past imposing castles, around enchanting lakes and along the Waalweg canal trails. South Tyrol has more than 16,000 km of signposted hiking trails that run through the ever-changing natural landscape, including themed trails, multi-day tours and high-Alpine trails.

LATEMARIUM: This mountain hike via the “Latemar. 360°” viewing platform to the Latemarhütte mountain hut (2,670 m) is one of the most beautiful in the southern Latemar-massif and offers an impressive panorama of the surrounding mountains.
The LATEMAR.NATURA trail was made for families and nature-lovers and leads through alpine landscapes and altitude zones to discover natural habitats of the alpine region. Interactive stations make the hikers aware of the nature around and acquaint them with the local flora and fauna.
The Oberholz hut at the mountain station acts as starting point of a hike underneath the rocks of Latemar. With its modern architecture, the unique location and the 360° panoramic terrace, the Oberholz hut is a true highlight.
The tour starts at the Hotel Waldheim in Val Martello and goes over the bridge of the Plima. Continue along the path no.5 through the wood untill the "Löcherhof", from there on the old road at the free slope to the meadows of "Hochegghof" and a moderate rise brings you to the "Stallwieshof" (1,926m). From there you go on at the footpath no.8 to the log cabins of the Malga Schluder/Schluderalm. Following the path no.34 up to the forest and then down into the valley. At the end of the tour, cross again the bridge and return to the starting point. A wonderful winter tour with great views!

The Oberholz hut at the mountain station of the chairlift "Oberholz" can act as starting- or endpoint of a hike. With its modern architecture, the unique location and the 360° panoramic terrace, the Oberholz hut is a true highlight.
Easy walk from Bruneck/Brunico to "Kaiserwarte" and Reischach/Riscone.
Around 1903, on the highest point of "Kühbergl/Monte Spalliera", a 18 meters high observation tower was built, which allowed the Emperor Franz Joseph I to observe the artillery movements in Brunico and surroundings. This tower and the hill were named "Kaiserwarte". Later the tower became a popular scenic spot, but over the years it suffered natural damages and in 1950 it had to be removed for safety reasons. Currently a small stone column can be seen where once the tower stood.
This relaxing hike is sure to make the heart of every hiker beat a little faster. Fantastic views of the Latemar, Weißhorn and Schwarzhorn mountains and great places to stop for delicious refreshments make this hike an unforgettable experience.
The tavern Bergjosl is located 600 meters above Terlan, but already belongs to the municipality of Mölten. The turnoff to the mountain restaurant is located halfway between Terlan and Mölten. The Mair family, owners of this Buschenschank, is supervising as well the only forest cemetery for animals in South Tyrol.
For used hikers this tour can start at the center of Terlan by walking along the Kirchgasse until reaching its end. Here you can find the last farm „Klaus in der Mühle" with its old mill. On the right starts the path to the weather cross (no. 3 A). You will reach the street to Mölten in front of the subway; take the way on the left and turn emediately right, in order to not pass the subway. From here take the left path after the second bend.
An other version of this way would be along the Weiler „Montigl" – „Grunerhof" and then through the scottish pine wood along rock faces to a panoramic view point. From here you can already see the "Buschenschank Bergjosl" and you reach it on a firstly slight descending path then go right.
The walk through the LandArt path is a simple, family-friendly hike through the forests of Falzes/Pfalzen. LandArt is art in nature and with nature - nature is its space. With various materials and techniques the artists create their unique works using what nature offers and integrating artistic notes. This art is temporary, exposed to the weather conditions and changes along with nature.
The Latemar World Heritage Site promises unforgettable adventures and a one-of-a-kind nature experience. In summer 2023, Obereggen's new adventure programme will feature along three different paths the Magical Tales of the Dolomites, the Storm Vaia and thrilling poacher legends. Various installations, booklets, maps, audio games and an app will help children aged 6 to 14 solve difficult puzzles and tasks in analog and digital formats. The entire family can actively participate in the adventures and earn valuable points that will help with specific reforestation of the woods. The Secret of the Venetian - Audio game hike: 2 hours, 1.4 km (trail nr. 22, LATEMAR.PANORAMA). Toni and Klara, the Jörglhof siblings, are once again on the road with you, entertaining you with a legend from their homeland, the Latemar puppets. Fascinated, you are looking at the mountain peaks of the Latemar, to recognize in them the puppets of the Venetian, when you hear a voice "I, too, am looking for my knife! Help me and I will reward you richly!". Startled, you whirl around, between the bushes there is an old man who seems to have sprung from the legend you just heard. In search of the lost knife, you land in the middle of the legendary world of the Latemar. There are tricky puzzles to be solve, the evil witch Langwerda to be escaped and many dangers to be overcome.
The seventh stage of 360° Upper Vinschgau Valley starts in Glurns/ Glorenza, the smallest town in the alpine region and leads to the westernmost village in South Tyrol on the border to Switzerland.

The first part of the sixth stage of the circular hiking trail 360° Upper Vinschgau Valley runs along the animal forest path “Gumperle”. From there it goes past the Lichtenberg Castle to the medieval town of Glurns/ Gorenza.

Follow the theme trail through a pristine habitat along the Schalderer Bach torrent. The pure mountain waters of this natural monument pass through the Schalderertal Valley for 11 km before flowing into the Eisack river at Vahrn/Varna, just north of Brixen/Bressanone.
