Chef and owner, Christian Rainer, is a passionate chef who knows how to cultivate traditional cuisine with love for fresh produce and seasonal dishes. You will find us directly in the museum of the mining world Ridnaun Schneeberg in Maiern. The cozy Knappenstube was built in 1993, paneled with old wood and grown on the robust original wall of the mine. Our restaurant has about 90 seats in the interior and about 90 seats on the panoramic terrace.

In the center of Santa Valburga. the "cafe´Ultun" invites you to take a short break for breakfast before an excursion. The cafe´is part of the bakery "Ultner Brot" which is precisely next to the cafe´. There the guests can buy bread and other freshly baked goods . Opened in the 15th century, philosophers, scientists and other academics and summer guests from the hogher echelons of Austro-Hungarian nobility visited the guesthouse. Under the management of the renowned tourism expert Emma Hellenstainer, the guesthouse became popular for its exquisite cuisine. Guests were spoiled with healthy food already back in Miss Emma's day! This tradition has been preserved up to date. Whenever possible we use home-grown products or products from organic farmers from the surroundings, who we know in person.
