This easy circular walk in the valley combines woodland paths, river landscapes and historic routes. The alternation between shaded sections and open areas makes the route varied, while the consistently level terrain allows for relaxed walking. The tour is ideal as an introductory walk and is especially suitable for those who enjoy combining gentle exercise with nature and history.

Aschbach cable car valley station – Badlweg (forest trail) – Töll Bridge – cycling route Via Claudia Augusta – Rabland pond – Aschbach cable car valley station

The starting point and destination of the walk is the Aschbach cable car valley station. From here, the route first follows the Badlweg (Waldweg Töll), which runs through pleasantly shaded sections towards Töll. After crossing the Töll Bridge, the path turns left and continues westwards along the historic Via Claudia Augusta.

The well-maintained cycle and footpath runs level along the River Adige through open valley landscapes and leads to the Rabland pond, a quiet spot for a short break. From the Rabland pond, the route returns to the Aschbach cable car valley station, where the circular walk ends.

Terrain Cure Path no. 7 (Aschbach cable car valley station – Rabland pond)

This walk is also designated as a terrain cure path. Regular, individually paced walking in the open air supports endurance, mobility and cardiovascular health. The Partschins terrain cure paths are certified by the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.

Character & requirements

  • mostly sun-exposed and windy sections
  • asphalt and paved paths with some shaded woodland stretches (woodland approx. 30%)
  • easy, effortless walk in the valley
  • ideal as an introductory and health-oriented route

On sunny summer days, high thermal exposure is possible – sun protection and sufficient hydration are recommended.

The starting points of our hiking tours can be reached comfortably and in an environmentally friendly way by bus and train.
