It takes just 8 minutes to get up to the top station of the San Vigilio
Cable Car (1,486 m) from Lana. Trail No. 1 – better known as the
Quellenweg – leads past vigilius mountain resort and onto the junction
with Trail No. 34A. Carry on along this path until you meet Trail No.
34B, which eventually brings you directly to the Malga Bagno dell’Orso,
where hikers can stop for a bite to eat. Continue on Trail No. 2, which
leads to Trail No. 9 and carries on to the San Vigilio Church and
Restaurant Jocher below it. From there, take Trail No. 4 to Restaurant
Seggiovia at the top station of the chairlift. From here you can visit a
beautiful outlook point by following Trail No. 8. Go back to the top
station of the cable car on foot or take it easy, and ride down on the
chairlift.
Getting to San Vigilio
BY BUS AND TRAIN
The Lana bus station lies in close proximity
to the valley station of the cable car. It is well
connected to public transport, with good connections
to the stations at Marlengo, Merano
and Lana/Postal.
BY CAR
Take the Merano-Bolzano (MEBO) expressway, exit at
Merano Sud and drive towards Lana. The entrance to the
valley station of the San Vigilio Cable Car is 100 m further,
on the right.
