This varied circular hike takes you from Welsberg past Welsperg Castle to Taisten. In the village centre, the parish church with the beautiful Welsperg, or Erasmus Chapel, and the atmospheric cemetery are well worth a visit. The route then leads back to Welsberg along the Kirchsteig trail.

The hike starts in Welsberg at the tourist office. From there, you walk to the main square and continue to the Pidigbach stream. After crossing the bridge, follow the large castle round and hike past Welsperg Castle towards the Gsiesertal Valley. Then turn right, pass through the cross-country ski trail underpass and continue along the forest path to Taisten Wiesen. From there, the route leads into the village centre of Taisten. The Church of St. George (can only be viewed from the outside.), the parish church with the Welsperg, or Erasmus Chapel, and the adjoining cemetery are especially worth seeing. The chapel was founded by Balthasar von Welsperg, consecrated on 9 July 1472 and served as a burial place for several members of the Welsperg family. You then return to Welsberg along the Kirchsteig trail.
