A great hike to Runerköpfl, with fantastic views of the mountaineering village of Matsch and the entire Matsch Valley.
Itinerary
The starting point for the tour is on the opposite side of the mountaineering village of Matsch, at the Runer Höfe. From the parking lot, the trail leads along the paved road for about 20 minutes, following the signs for No. 23 or 23A Runerköpfl. At the next junction, the trail to Runerköpfl splits to the left (No. 23) and to the right (No. 23A). Due to the view, it is recommended to take trail no. 23 to the left. The trail follows the forest road to the end, where there is a small bridge over the stream. This trail leads to the plateau, past the Remshütte hut to the end of the plateau, where the trail to the right leads to Runerköpfl. The descent is on the other side of the mountain, following No. 23A, and also leads back to the starting point via a plateau.
