The hike starts at the Gigglhirnhof farm above St. Walburg. Follow a forest road and a hiking trail in the direction of Marschnell Alm and Peilstein. At the highest mountain pasture in the Ultental Valley, which is open in the summer months, you continue along hiking trail no. 10 until you reach the summit cross after around 2 hours and 45 minutes.
From Gigglhirn we follow the markings No. 10 first on a forest road and then on the hiking trail to Schweinsteig and on to Marschnell. From there we follow the markings northeast to the summit. The new summit cross (2019) is slightly below.
Shortly before the centre of S. Valburga/St. Walburg turn right to Gigglhirn.
