Not difficult hiking tour from the Mendel pass up to mount Penegal with gentle gradients and a beautiful panoramic view at the endpoint. Starting point: mountain station of the Mendel Cable Car/Mendel pass. Endpoint: Mount Penegal. Walking time: about 1.5 hours. Difference in altitude: about 380 meters.
Trail description: Starting from the Mendel Cable Car on the Mendel Pass, pass by the former hotel “Kalterer Hof”, then cross the Mendel road and follow the trail number 500 up to the peak Penegal (1.737 meters). Great panoramic view over the Dolomites and the Ortler-mountain chain.
The restaurant/bar/hotel Penegal is open from mid May until mid Oktober.
