Latzfons High Altitude Trail

Klausen/Chiusa, Brixen/Bressanone and environs

The Latzfons High Trail is considered one of the most beautiful panoramic hikes in the Sarntal Alps. The varied route leads through alpine meadows and Swiss stone pine forests while offering impressive views of the Dolomites. This moderately difficult hike connects the Klausner Hut with the picturesque Radlsee Lake.

Itinerary
From the Kühhof parking area to the Klausner Hut (trail no. 1): ascend through Swiss stone pine forests to the Schalderer Scharte pass, then continue along the European trail to the Radlsee Hut. Return via the Brugger Schupfe alpine hut (not serviced) and trail no. 14 back to the starting point.

From Brixen or Klausen, take bus no. 342 or 343 to Latzfons.

From Latzfons, there is the option to use the summer hiking shuttle bus to the Kühhof parking area:

  • only during the period from May 13 to October 31, 2026
  • every Wednesday and Friday
  • 09:00 a.m.: departure from Latzfons (accessible by public transport)
  • 04:30 p.m.: return from Kühhof

Prices:

  • €4.00 to Kühhof (fare per trip)
  • free with the Südtirol Guest Pass Klausen
