Sledding in the Lana area

Monte S. Vigilio/Vigiljoch, Lana, Meran/Merano and environs
from center of

Most people from Lana probably sat on a sled even before they could walk, since sledding is one of the favourite pastimes of the area. It is no wonder, that the multiple world and Olympic luge champion Armin Zöggeler, comes from Foiana, in the Lana area.

The San Vigilio is right at the doorstep and it takes only a few minutes on the cable car to reach this magic winter wonderland. The well groomed sledding slope is ideal for family sledding trips as well as exiting rides with friends. The 4 km long slope offers everything a sledding fan desires: numerous curves and a sufficient incline.

However, there are also great conditions for big and small sledding fans in other ski areas around Lana, e. g. in Merano 2000 or the 3.5 km long sledding slope on the glacier in Schnalstal as well as the traditional slope on the Schwemmalm pasture in the Ulten Valley, that can be reached by foot in a mere 20 minutes walk through a magical winter forest.
