The artificial lake of Neves is located at the back of the Mühlwald valley, in the village of Lappach. It can be reached via a narrow toll mountain road.
Attention: The hike around the lake is only possible on weekends and public holidays. During the week the dam is closed due to construction work.
The trail starts at the parking lot at the dam above Lappach/Lappago. From there, a well-maintained hiking trail leads once around the lake. The route is mostly flat and therefore accessible for everyone.
Buses numbered 451 to Lappach usually depart hourly from Sand in Taufers. Get off at the last stop called "Rinsbach", then it's a 1.5-hour walk to the Neves reservoir.
From Mühlen in Taufers, we continue towards Mühlwald to Lappach. A mountain road with traffic light regulation and several hairpin bends leads to the dam and the parking lot right by the lake.
