CURONA DE GHERDËINA DELUXE - STAGE 3: passo Gardena – sella massif – passo Sella

Sëlva/Selva di Val Gardena, Dolomites Region Val Gardena
Queen stage across the Sella Massif featuring Lake Pisciadù, the Sella Plateau and Lasties Valley. A spectacular alpine traverse with breathtaking views.
from center
The high-alpine crossing of the Sella massif – known as the “Mountain of the Ladin people” – connects four Ladin valleys spans three Italian regions, and is considered the true queen stage of the tour.
The ascent and descent across the table-shaped massif, originally formed from an ancient tropical atoll, lead through steep rock faces and high mountain passes. A particular highlight is the turquoise Pisciadù Lake, nestled like an alpine basin beneath towering cliffs. Equally impressive is the vast Sella Plateau, a high mountain landscape cratered like the surface of the moon, with spectacular panoramic views. Here, ibex can often be spotted.
The descent follows the scenic Lasties Valley with its waterfalls, ending at the Sella Pass.
