War memorial • Highlights of South Tyrol

This monument to the victims of the two World Wars features a beautifully hand-carved cross made by local artist Carlo Obwegs who learned the art of wood carving in the Gardena valley and perfected his skills in several foreign countries. The war memorial crucifix is often described as his most important work.
