A beautiful hike to one of the most scenic peaks in the region, right on the border with Switzerland.
Itinerary
From the starting point in Puntweil near Taufers, follow the signs for Rifairer Alm No. 10. After about 100 meters, trail No. 10 turns right. At the signpost in the forest, follow trail No. 10 uphill towards Rifairer Alm until you reach the top of the forest. Once you reach the alpine pasture, trail no. 10 continues to the ridge of the mountain. There, trail no. 14 leads to the right to the summit of Piz Chavalatsch.
The return route to the alpine pasture is the same. Alternatively, you can follow trail no. 10A to Taufers from the alpine pasture.
