Open air museum "Anderter Alpe"

Sexten/Sesto, Dolomites Region 3 Zinnen
from center
Sexten, in the 3 Zinnen Dolomites region, was during the First World War the only German-speaking village of the Austro-Hungarian Empire located directly on the front line. Flight, destruction and the subsequent annexation to Italy profoundly shaped the region.
The association Bellum Aquilarum ONLUS is committed to preserving this turbulent history: with an open-air museum on the Rotwand, a historical museum and a documentation centre in Sexten – as a European memorial against war.
