Mount "Sattelberg" and Mount "Kreuzjoch"

At the southern end of the village of Brenner, follow the Valentinsstraße road to the former customs station and follow the path (no. 1) upwards, which leads past the Eisack Falls up the steep valley slope. In many hairpin bends, the trail overcomes the steep, rocky slope and reaches the lower edge of the meadows of the Steinalm. Keep right here, climb upwards and cross the young river Eisack. Continue upwards across the open slope. A goods road leads up the slope here, some of the hairpin bends of which can be shortened without a path. Finally, you reach the summit of the mount "Sattelberg" via the grassy ridge. A scenic ridge hike leads from the Mount "Sattelberg" to the mount "Kreuzjoch". From the mount "Sattelberg" you first hike southwards, then in a south-westerly direction over to the mount "Steinjoch" (2186 m), and on to the slightly lower Steinsattel. From here, the trail climbs up to the mount "Kreuzjoch". The descent leads back to the Steinsattel, on to the Steinjoch and on to the Steinalm. The descent from the Steinalm is either via the steep path to the Brenner or via the forest road to the wood storage area 300 metres south of the Brenner.
