Trailrun - Iceman Skyrace

Start at the festival square in Unser Frau and head north along the Mastaun road to the junction on the right towards Vernagt, along the forest path to the dam wall of Lake Vernagt. Here you take a staircase to the left into the lake circular trail and follow the path, which runs partly over roots and stone steps, to the end of the lake. At the first fork, follow the signposting 13A on the left to Kurzras at 2,000 metres above sea level. Behind the hotel complex, follow trail no. 3 in the direction of the Schöne Aussicht refuge and continue to the Glacier Hotel Grawand. From here, turn left over the iron steps to the viewing platform and then continue along the ridge to the Finailjoch. From here, the trail descends over high alpine terrain, sometimes steeply, over scree in serpentines towards Lake Finailsee and continues over rocky terrain and alpine pastures to the Finailhof.

From here, take the Höfeweg trail no. 7 to the left in the direction of Vernagt, past the Raffeinhof and Tisenhof farms and along the meadow path to Vernagt. Now walk along the road to the dam wall of the lake, cross the dam and turn left again onto the forest path that you have already walked on the ascent and return to the starting point in Unser Frau.
