The hiking trail to the Rif. Forcola/Furkelhütte has a length of about 12 km. The Rif. Forcola is located at 2153 m and on its sun terrace you can enjoy the wonderful view of the Ortler group.
Starting point is directly at the game reserve in "Fragges". From there, follow path no. 2 to the malga Stelvio. Then follow trail no. 4 and 4a to the rif. Forcola. Path no. 7 leads back to Fragges.
You can also start from the bottom station of the rif. Forcola in Trafoi and follow path nr. 17 to the rif. Forcola.
All the informations about the hike is without guarantee. Hiker should look at the weather forecast and plan the tour as best as possible.
If you do not want to travel to "Fragges" by private car, you can use the pubblic transport. With the bus line 271 you get from Prato allo Stelvio/Spondigna to Stelvio in about half an hour. The bus stop is located directly in Stelvio. From there you have to go by feet to the starting point.
From Spondinig/Spondigna via the Stilfserjoch road SS 38 to Gomagoi, then follow the street to Stelvio/Stilfs and then to Fragges.
In order to get to the starting point, the parking area at the game reserve "Fragges" is the most suitable.
