Circular hike: Lutterkopf – Durakopf

Scenic circular hike from Oberrasen via Lutterkopf peak and Durakopf peak to the Taistner Vorderalm hut with refreshment stops.

This scenic circular hike leads from Oberrasen to Lutterkopf peak and continues on to Durakopf peak. The route offers impressive views of the Antholz Valley, the Pustertal Valley and the Dolomites.

From the starting point, the path first ascends through the forest to the Mudler mountain inn, which is ideal for a first stop. From there, the trail continues through the forest up to Lutterkopf peak and then along the panoramic ridge to Durakopf peak.

The descent leads via the Taistner Vorderalm hut, where another refreshment stop is possible. From there, a pleasant forest road leads back to the Mudler mountain inn and finally back to Oberrasen.

The tour impresses with its varied landscape, wide panoramic views and the combination of ridge hiking and refreshment opportunities.

Itinerary
The starting point is the parking area near the Oberstallerhof farm in Oberrasen. From here, follow trail no. 20 through shaded forest up to the Mudler mountain inn (refreshments available). From Mudlerhof, continue along trail no. 31 to Lutterkopf peak. After the forest ascent, the terrain opens up near the summit, offering magnificent panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. From Lutterkopf peak, continue along the scenic ridge to Durakopf peak. This section follows the crest and is particularly impressive thanks to its stunning views. From Durakopf peak, descend via trail no. 38 to the Taistner Vorderalm hut (refreshments available). Then follow forest road no. 38A back to Mudlerhof and finally return to Oberrasen via trail no. 20.

Details
Overview
Sturdy hiking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing and sufficient water are recommended. Due to the exposed sections, sun protection is also important. Trekking poles can be helpful during the descent.
This hike is especially recommended on clear days, when Lutterkopf offers a stunning panoramic view over the Dolomites and the Pustertal Valley. A stop at one of the alpine huts perfectly completes the experience.
Take bus line 431 from Olang-Antholz station or from Lake Antholz to Oberrasen. From there, the respective starting points can be reached on foot.

Directions
From the Pustertal Valley road, turn into the Antholz Valley and continue to Oberrasen. There, turn right at the church and drive up to the parking area before the Oberstallerhof farm.
