The tour begins with the ascent via the Tiers Cabrio cable car and the König Laurin 1 and 2 gondolas. The hike then follows the Hirzel trail, which leads in a steep but relatively short climb up to Vajolon Pass (2,560 m). A short iron ladder helps overcome a rocky section. Upon reaching the pass, an impressive panorama opens up with views into Val di Fassa and of the striking rock faces of the Rotwand and Tscheinerspitze. The descent follows trail no. 551 (later no. 541), which initially runs in a gentle curve and then continues over scenic slopes, a narrow saddle, and flower-rich alpine meadows. Further along, the nearly level panoramic trail no. 549 begins, leading toward the Christomannos Monument. Here, a bronze eagle commemorates the Dolomite pioneer Theodor Christomannos and his contributions to the development of the region. From there, the route follows the Hirzel trail back to the starting point, before returning via the lifts down to St. Zyprian.
