The ski tour begins at the large parking lot at the end of Vals. From here, head north towards the Fane Alm (1,739 m). Shortly before reaching the alm, cross the meadow and join an alpine path heading south. After passing a prominent gully, the route continues left through a short, avalanche-safe forest section.
Entering the wide-open cirque, stay slightly to the right. Caution is required here as the steep side slopes can pose an avalanche risk under certain conditions. In the cirque, follow a gentle left curve and aim for the steeper summit ridge. Ascend this ridge to reach the broad summit ridge of the Plattspitze on the right-hand side of the peak.
The descent offers everything a ski touring enthusiast could wish for: wide, rolling slopes with steeper and flatter sections. A brief forest section adds an extra element of variety.
